Poz Cruise Retreat 2017 - Southern Caribbean HIV Gay Cruise
7 nights from/to San Juan, Puerto Rico
November 4 11, 2017
Celebrity Cruises Celebrity Summit
Welcome to the 13th Annual Poz Cruise Retreat! With 300+ guests expected, we will have a fun-filled week, which includes private events such as cocktail parties, disco nights, exclusive shore excursions plus much more. We will offer informative workshops; however, it's a vacation – so participation is up to each cruiser. Join us in our own dining room section for dinner or enjoy complimentary room service, or the specialty upscale restaurant. People of all sexualities are encouraged to join us for our bonding and camaraderie; family, friends, partners/spouses regardless of sero-status are also welcomed.
Your Cruise Retreat rate includes all your meals, basic beverages and entertainment as well as our private events.
The Celebrity Summit will be our home away from home for this seven night sailing. Celebrity is known for a contemporary design, international cuisine, gracious service, and very comfortable cabins. Lay poolside with a favorite beverage, exercise in the gym followed by a relaxing sauna, enjoy Las Vegas style revue shows, and too much more to list here.
Traveling solo, fear not. Our cruise attracts a very large number of other single travelers. In fact, if you need a roommate, we do provide a roommate match program. However, if you prefer a single occupancy cabin, there will be a single supplement.
It is most gratifying to see the large number of strong long lasting friendships that develop each year. Find your new extended family. We are privileged to have many, many cruisers join us for three, five and ten years. These repeat guests give you an inkling of a new extended family waiting to meet you. Although we can not guarantee it, dozens of people have met their partner on our cruises.

For Poz Retrat Cruise Travelers Only
Ship Board Activities: The first night of every cruise we host a welcome cocktail party exclusively for our guests. This is the first time the entire group will have a chance to meet and mingle. We will make many useful announcements. Other private events are also planned for the week. Full details of our daily itinerary will be made available to you upon check in on the ship.
Dining: We have confirmed a block of tables together at 8:30 PM each evening. Since we have a block of tables, you may feel free to move from table to table each evening. We encourage this so that you get the chance to get to know as many people as possible. Two nights are designated as “formal” nights meaning jacket & tie, suit or tux. Dining the rest of the evenings is casual meaning slacks and either button down or polo type shirt. All meals in the buffet are always casual.
Room Mates: We offer those who are traveling alone the opportunity to be paired up with other solo travelers. Roommate shares are not available in all categories. You may find your own roommate until final payment date. We assign roommate at the time of final payment. After you have been assigned a roommate we will introduce the two of you by email.
Shore Excursions: The ship will offer many excursions to purchase. We however, will offer at least two or three of our own including a chartered catamaran for swimming, snorkeling and fun. Our trips are usually lower priced and include more than what the ship will offer. Information regarding our excursions will be sent to you about 60 days prior to sailing.

San Juan, Puerto Rico
One of the largest islands in the Eastern Caribbean, Puerto Rico's landscape encompasses mountains, underground caves, coral reefs, white-sand beaches and an incredibly massive rain forest that supplies fresh water to most of the island. At the same time San Juan, the capital of the commonwealth, is a big city with a bustling business district, glitzy resorts and casinos, as well as one of the most stunning examples of colonial life in the Western world.
When you're in San Juan, don't miss the opportunity to witness the pinnacle of natural beauty by exploring Puerto Rico's El Yunque Rain Forest. It features more than 240 species of trees, hundreds of miniature orchids, and what was once believed to be the Fountain of Youth.
• See Baño Grande, a natural swimming pool. Then take a walk on Camitillo Trail and look for the artificial nest of the Puerto Rican parrot and the flora and fauna of the Palo Colorado forest
• Explore Old San Juan, the second-oldest European settlement in the New World. Ride to San Felipe El Morro, the most dramatic of all the city's military fortifications. Visit the Casa Blanca Museum & Gardens, the Ballaja Barracks, Quincentennial Square, San Jose Church, San Juan Cathedral, and Cristo Chapel
St. Croix, U.S.V.I.
If you have not been to St. Croix before, you will find that it offers everything you expect from a Caribbean Island...lush green hills, warm aquamarine water, beautiful beaches, fabulous weather, great dining and duty free shopping, incredible SCUBA diving, three golf courses, and a friendly Caribbean culture with a relaxed island experience...all without the crowds of many other Caribbean destinations.
In addition to its lovely beaches, shops, water sports and restaurants, St. Croix offers a great deal of natural beauty to explore. Tour the island´s rain forest, botanical gardens, wild-life refuges, nature preserves and parks, including the only underwater park run by the US National Park Service.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
An exquisite blend of Dutch and French cultures, St. Martin boasts stunning beaches, crystal clear waters, and incredible duty-free shopping. Whether you lunch at a charming French cafe or explore the lively Dutch capital of Philipsburg, you will find the dichotomy of St. Maarten perfectly charming.
Compete in an actual race on an America's Cup shortened course. Grind a winch, trim a sail or just sit back and enjoy. Professional sailors will give you a quick lesson, then you're off to compete on Stars and Stripes, one of the most famous sailboats in the world.
• Rendezvous at one of the newest and trendiest restaurants in French St. Maarten. Explore Orient Bay, the French Riviera of the Caribbean, with over 1 1/2 miles of white-sand beaches.
• Admire the delicate nature and dazzling colors of hundreds of butterflies as you tour St. Maarten's popular Butterfly Farm.
Roseau, Dominica
Roseau is a charming costal village of Dominica and your gateway to one of the Caribbean's most untouched islands. With its lush forested mountains, countless rivers, and black-sand beaches, you'll see why it's called the "Nature Island of the Caribbean." If you've ever wondered what an authentic Caribbean island was like, this is it.
Go snorkeling at Champagne Beach. These actual effervescent waters produce a "fizzing effect" due to the sub-aquatic surroundings. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to swim alongside parrot fish in bubbly waters.
• Soak the day away with a beauty bath in the rejuvenating Sulphur Springs.
• History buffs should take a peek into Colonial island life and volcanic geology at the Dominica Museum.
• See if you can spot the 150 species of plants and rare Dominica parrots at the Botanical Gardens.
• Get a good dose of vitamin D on the island's beautiful black-sand beaches.
Bridgetown, Barbados
The easternmost of the Caribbean islands, Barbados is also one of the most beautiful. Opt for one of the many tours available, such as the popular sojourn to tropical Andromeda Gardens. They are situated on a boulder-strewn hillside high above the sea, where ocean waters dramatically thunder against the giant rocks below. The beaches on the exclusive east coast are superb, and you may choose to head straight for one and spend the entire day relaxing. Of course, there is always shopping in Bridgetown.
For the ultimate day of fun-in-the-sun Barbados-style, cruise on the MV Harbour to a spectacular sandy beach. Snorkel on reefs teeming with tropical fish. Enjoy the rope swing, sun tanning or walking on the beach. Cruise back along the scenic coast while dancing the calypso or limbo, or just relax on deck.
• Climb into a comfortable safari-rigged Land Rover® and prepare yourself for adventure. Visit places inaccessible by tour bus, such as Gun Hill Signal Station, and go off-road through Joe's River Tropical Rain Forest.
• Adventure is in the air and so is the smell of a thousand orchids on this fragrant tour of Orchid World and Fisherpond House.
• Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and learn about island culture and history on a comprehensive island tour of Barbados.
St. George's, Grenada
Exploring the islands of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique is only a click away. There are a variety of tours offered by local operators many of which can be booked online or through your travel agent or hotel. Must see trips visit various attractions including The Grand Etang Forest Reserve and Lake, Waterfalls, Spice Estates and Plantation Houses. A visit to a Rum Distillery is a must to see how the Sugar Cane juice is turned into Rum, in many cases using the original technology and equipment from days gone by.
Visit one of Grenada's extinct volcanoes in the Grand Etang Forest Reserve and Lake. The lake is actually a natural water-filled crater and the surrounding vegetation is simply amazing, filled with tropical birds and rare flowers.
• Visit Bay Gardens, located on the site of an old sugar mill and home to more than 3,000 species of plants.
• Take a guided tour of one of the local rum distilleries or spice estates.
• Learn more about Grenada's culture and history at the Grenada National Museum.
