Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge, Kruger National Park

Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge, Kruger National ParkSabi Sabi Earth Lodge is a sanctuary symbolising a new era in luxury South African safari lodges. Sculpted into a slope of the earth, almost invisible in the landscape, the lodge uses texture, light and space to present a lodge like no other. Taking its cue from the surrounding environment, it has been described as the most environmentally sensitive lodge in Africa.

Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge reveals itself in a series of sensory revelations. On arrival a hidden corridor leads you down on a journey to a unique and unforgettable experience. The unexpected entrance opens to a panorama of uninterrupted bushveld. As in nature everything at Earth Lodge exists in harmony and you are immediately aware of a sense of calm and a restoring spirit.

Sabi Sabi Earth LodgeHome to 13 ultra-luxurious suites including the Amber Presidential Suite, the lodge breaks with traditional bush lodge style to create a masterpiece of artistry and innovation. Each of the suites at this luxury lodge features individually designed furniture, private plunge pool, en-suite glass fronted bathroom and indoor and outdoor shower. The natural wooden sculptures by renowned South African artist Geoffrey Armstrong add a powerful magic.

Sabi Sabi Selati Camp, Kruger National Park

Sabi Sabi Selati Camp, Kruger National ParkTo visit Selati Camp is to travel back in time. Small, exclusive and brimming with history, colonial elegance and African legend, the camp is perched near the historic Selati Railway line after which it was named. Fashioned in the colonial, ‘Out of Africa’ style, Selati nestles under majestic Acacia Trees lining the Msuthlu River.

Situated between the Sabie and Sand Rivers, Selati lies on an animal migration path, with game traversing between the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Reserve. This daily search for water and food is an ancient rhythm and here it happens right around you as you sip your sundowner or wake to a dawn chorus of hundreds of bushveld birds.

Sabi Sabi Selati CampNights at Selati are quiet, intimate and possess a rare magic. Some say it is the hand of Selati’s namesake, the legendary female chief of the ancient Thubela tribe, others, the gentle glow of the lamps. Whatever it is, it has made Selati Camp an essential pilgrimage for romantic souls far and wide.

Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria FallsBuilt in 1904, The Victoria Falls Hotel was the very first hotel to be built in Victoria Falls. The hotel exudes original colonial Edwardian charm but recent refurbishments offer guests the modern comforts one would expect from a luxury hotel.

The Victoria Falls Hotel perfectly depicts the era of grand travel. The corridors of the hotel reflect the historical link to the era in which it was created with drawings, paintings and photographs of the major political figures of the day adorning the walls.

Victoria Falls HotelThe hotel lies within a vast manicured garden which has an unobscurred view of the Victoria Falls bridge and the spray of the Falls. A private path leads guests from the gardens to the entrance of the Victoria Falls rainforest in an easy 10 minute stroll.

Victoria Falls offers a myriad of activities suitable for young and old, adventurous or lethargic to enjoy. The Victoria Falls Hotel is perfectly positioned within the town to enjoy all Victoria Falls has to the fullest.

Trip Notes

Suggested Attire
Attire is casual and comfortable during the day, with safari-style neutral colored clothing, and comfortable, but sturdy, footwear for excursions. Evening wear consists of open-neck shirts, trousers, skirt, or similar attire. Light jacket or sweaters are advisable for cool evenings. Other items to consider: shorts, swimsuit, hat and rain jacket.

Currency
The local currency is the South African Rand, however USD are widely accepted. We recommend carrying local currency or small USD bills in good condition for small purchases. Credit cards are accepted at most higher end restaurants and hotels.

Dietary Requirements
We will make every effort to accommodate special dietary requests. Please inform our office at least 60 days prior to departure of these requests.

Electricity
The South African electricity supply is 220/230 volts AC 50 HZ. Most plugs are 15 amp 3-prong(Plug M) or 5 amp 2-prong, with round pins. You will need a voltage converter and plug adapter in order to use U.S. appliances. We recommend getting a universal adapter and converter kit before your South African vacation. Guests should be sure to bring the appropriate converter for devices that are not dual voltage.

Gratuities
Gratuities are customary expressions of appreciation for a job well done. It is our goal to ensure that the service you receive is as wonderful as the sites you visit. At your own discretion you may choose to provide additional tips.

Insect Precautions
While you can expect to encounter insects during the program, most are relatively harmless. If you plan to be outside during the morning or evening hours, it is recommended to apply insect repellent, particularly to ankles and other exposed skin. Guests may wish to bring an insect repellent with DEET for use on excursions. White and black clothing attracts bugs and biting flies.
