Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania
Arusha, Tanzania Gay tour Welcome to Tanzania! On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) you will be met by a Zoom Vacations representative and transferred to The Arusha Coffee Lodge.

Lying on the gentling rolling foothills that cascade down from the ever-present Mount Meru is the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. It is here on the outskirts of this town, hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations, that you will find Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect haven for relaxation either before or after any African safari.

Accommodations: Arusha Coffee Lodge by Elewana, Arusha

Meals Included: Dinner

Day 2 - Wednesday, October 11, 2017
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park Breakfast at the hotel.

After an Alfresco Lunch in the gardens of the lodge you will be transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by the Tarangire Treetops team for your game drive in Tarangire National Park ending in Treetops’ Private Reserve.

Tarangire National Park lies south east of Lake Manyara and covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers(1,100 square miles.) The landscape and vegetation is incredibly diverse with a mix that is not found anywhere else in the northern safari circuit. The hilly landscape is dotted with vast numbers of Baobab trees, dense bush and high grasses.

Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It's the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.

You will arrive at Tarangire Treetops in time for sundowners. Here you will experience the drama and beauty of Africa in one of the most iconic locations that Tarangire has to offer. Sunset Hill is the perfect locations to sit atop and enjoy the deep orange sunsets that often welcome in the starry skies. Food and drinks will be served at this truly magical experience.

Accommodations: Tarangire Treetops by Elewana, Tarangire National Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Welcome Dinner

Day 3 - Thursday, October 12, 2017
Tarangire National Park
Tanzania gay safari - Maasai village Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast you will enjoy a full day of activities including game drives, a visit to an authentic Maasai village, a game walk, sundowners in the bush and a night game drive.

The Maasai Village gives a unique insight to the life of the Maasai. This village with its varying age of inhabitants are very warm and friendly and eager to meet guests.

There is no better way to up close and personal to the wild than to take a walking safari. Feel the ancient earth beneath every step you take as you tread on the tracks of animals that have walked the same path minutes before. In the company of an experienced guide, you will learn about the flora as well as the fauna, and begin to understand the true majesty of the indigenous peoples that live and thrive on the land.

Sundowner cocktails and dinner will be served on Sunset Hill.

Just after dusk, the night game drive will offer a rare opportunity to see how the bush ‘comes alive’ after dark. Driving with an experienced and qualified Elewana guide, the 1.5-hour drive provides an insight into the nocturnal wildlife that is often overlooked. With a keen eye and unbroken concentration, there is much to see and wonder at on a night game drive.

Accommodations: Tarangire Treetops by Elewana, Tarangire National Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

On arrival, you will be transferred to The Manor where you will arrive in time for high-tea. Located adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro conservation area and within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture.

Accommodations: The Manor Ngorongoro by Elewana, Ngorongoro

Day 5 - Saturday, October 14, 2017
Ngorongoro Conservation Area / Karatu
Ngorongoro gay safari Breakfast at the hotel.

Today you will spend a full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater is famed as being the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’, and is a must-see on anyone’s itinerary. This extinct volcano - with its 18-kilometre wide crater floor - is home to an abundant and unique ecosystem that encompasses almost all of the wildlife that you would wish to see in Africa. This spectacular setting is a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to experience the rawness and beauty of Africa’s natural flora and fauna.

A picnic hamper lunch will be served on the crater floor. Surrounded by game and the ever-present Crater rim, this is the most dramatic and beautiful picnic lunch you are ever likely to take.

After lunch, you will explore more of the crater before returning to the Manor for the evening cocktails and dinner. The Manor, famed for its beautiful gardens, is the perfect haven to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing sunset. Overlooking the coffee-laden hills that surround the Manor, the views to the adjacent rolling hills are a vista to behold.

Day 6 - Sunday, October 15, 2017
Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Tanzania gay safari - Lake Manyara National Park Breakfast at hotel

Today, you have the option of visiting Lake Manyara National Park or staying at the lodge to explore the estate. You may choose from a host of activities including horseback riding, cycling, an estate tour, a massage treatment or you may opt to just relax.

Lake Manyara is a shallow lake in the Natron-Manyara-Balangida branch of the Great Rift Valley in Tanzania. Said by Ernest Hemingway to be the loveliest lake in Africa, it is also the home of a diverse set of landscapes and wildlife. Of the 127 square miles (of Lake Manyara National Park, the lake's alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles, though the area and pH fluctuate widely with the seasons, and dry spells expose large areas of mud flats. While most known for baboons, the lake and its environs is also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes.

After lunch you will be driven to Manyara airstrip for your onward flight to the Serengeti, where you will stay at either Serengeti Pioneer Camp or Serengeti Migration Camp.

The choice of Camp will be made in advance of your arrival to Tanzania with the decision based on which location will provide the optimum game-viewing opportunities. Both Camps provide exceptional accommodation and are located close to the migratory path of the wildebeests Migration. However, each Camp benefits from resident wildlife - all-year round. Enjoy full-day game drives, bush luncheons and dinners as well as evenings under the stars at the Camps. You will spend the next 2 nights in a luxurious safari tent.

Accommodations: Serengeti Migration Camp or Serengeti Pioneer Camp, Serengeti National Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 7 - Monday, October 16, 2017
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park gay safari Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast you will spend the full day exploring the vast Serengeti. Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park and a world heritage site, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.

As enduring as the game-viewing is the liberating sense of space that characterizes the Serengeti Plains, stretching across sunburnt savannah to a shimmering golden horizon at the end of the earth. Yet, after the rains, this golden expanse of grass is transformed into an endless green carpet flecked with wildflowers. And there are also wooded hills and towering termite mounds, rivers lined with fig trees and acacia woodland stained orange by dust.

Enjoy a lunch in the bush, after which the afternoon will be spent game viewing. You will return to your camp in time for sundowners and dinner with spectacular views on the sunset deck adding to the incredible experience that is Serengeti.

Accommodations: Serengeti Migration Camp or Serengeti Pioneer Camp, Serengeti National Park

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 8 - Tuesday, October 17, 2017
Serengeti National Park to Rwanda
Rwanda gay safari - Virunga National Park Breakfast at the hotel.

Watch a spectacular sunrise whilst staying at Pioneer Camp or stretch your legs on a game walk if you are staying at Migration Camp.

Lunch will be served at the lodge and thereafter a game drive en route to the airstrip for Coastal air scheduled light to Kigali departing at 14h25hrs arrival at 17h25hrs – local time in Rwanda. On arrival into Kigali, you are met and transferred to Virunga Conservation area (approximately 2.5 hours drive).

The Virunga National Park is a 7,800 square kilometer national park established in 1925 as Africa’s first national park. It is a UNESCO designated world heritage site known for its exceptional biodiversity, containing more bird, ammal, and reptile species than any protected area on the African continent.

Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is located in Kinigi in northern Rwanda and on the edge of the Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas. The lodge is located on the foothills of the Mount Karisimbi, one of the volcanic mountains that make up the Virunga Massif. The lodge is about 10 minutes’ drive to the main entrance of the Volcanoes National Park where gorilla trekking starts.

Rwanda gay safari - Gorilla Experience Breakfast at the hotel.

Arusha Coffee Lodge, ArushaLying on the gentling rolling foothills that cascade down from the ever-present Mount Meru is the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. It is here on the outskirts of this town, hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations, that you will find Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect haven for relaxation either before or after any African safari. Tarangire Treetops, Tarangire National Park (2 Nights)

Tarangire TreetopsMany a childhood would have been spent playing in the world of ‘make-believe’. Within this imaginary existence many of us will have climbed and played high up in the bows and branches and, for the lucky few, built a ‘palace’ in the sky. It is this nostalgic sparkle that is all too visible in the eyes of the ‘grown-ups’ who gaze upon Tarangire Treetops for the first time. Tarangire Treetops sits serenely on the border of the Tarangire National Park - Tanzania. Each of Treetops' elevated rooms boast one of the largest bedrooms to be found in any camp or lodge in East Africa – with a floor space of 65 square metres – and all with an exotic double shower en suite bathroom. With furnishings that create warmth and demonstrate a commitment to local craftsmanship, the ‘up-in-the-air’ experience is completed by the open-fronted room design affording views across the Tarangire plains from an expansive but private balcony.

The Manor at Ngorongoro, Ngorongoro (2 Nights)

The Manor NgorongoroCrossing the Rift Valley and climbing the steppe onto the green and rolling hills south of the Ngorongoro Crater, there lies a truly undeniable surprise and one that will be a home-away-from-home. The Manor at Ngorongoro, located in the north west Tanzania and with its 10 luxurious cottages (20 Suites) and magnificent main Manor House, is one of the first safari lodges of its kind to blend East African hospitality with old-world Afro-European architecture and decor. Located adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro conservation area and within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture. Every detail of The Manor has been designed with its guests’ comfort in mind. Each of the cottages has been carefully positioned to maximise the views of the adjacent verdant hills but at the same time to maintain the intimacy and privacy of this old-world Manor home.
