Buenos Aires to Rio Cruise February 21 March 5, 2007 |
Buzios was catapulted from quiet fishing village to sophisticated international getaway soon after Brigitte Bardot became a regular visitor in the 1960s. Today Buzios is an upscale beach resort that attracts wealthy Brazilians and in-the-know foreigners alike with its beautiful beaches, sophisticated boutiques and restaurants, and its surprisingly laid-back charm. The area actually consists of several small towns spread across a peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic, lined with 17 pristine beaches. During the day, water sports ranging from boat-riding and diving to windsurfing and kitesurfing abound in the many secluded harbors and among the region’s many islands. And at night, an attractive selection of bars, restaurants and nightclubs entice visitors of all ages.
