Buzios was catapulted from quiet fishing village to sophisticated international getaway soon after Brigitte Bardot became a regular visitor in the 1960s. Today Buzios is an upscale beach resort that attracts wealthy Brazilians and in-the-know foreigners alike with its beautiful beaches, sophisticated boutiques and restaurants, and its surprisingly laid-back charm.
