This year Alternative Events 2008 summer event takes place between 25th September and 2nd October, in the stunning Club Med resort of Athens Greece.

This year we're taking you to a fabulous resort in Athens Greece. Club Med's resort is situated facing beautiful waters that will entice you to go for a swim, a dance or cuddle your partner or newly found friend.

Relax, explore, enjoy, party, be yourself and meet people from around the world. Party 'til you drop with the cream of gay clubs and parties, brought to you from four continents. It's entirely your choice, to do what you want and when you want to do it, in a completely safe, open environment, with staff primed to grant your every wish.

Like our Otranto, Bodrum and Val Thorens events, the holiday is ALL-INCLUSIVE. All meals and a free and unlimited bar all week with sports, daytime activities and your nightclubs included. Leave your wallet at home and enjoy your time in the sun without the worry of a bill at the end of the week.

Your Accommodation

The Club Med Village of Athenia has 421 rooms divided between a hotel and bungalows. Your Club Room includes: bathroom, air conditioning, hairdryer, telephone and personal safe.

All rooms have mini-fridges, flat-screen television, air-conditioning, hairdryer and private bathroom.
Suites are also available with terraces & wrap-around views to die for!

We cater for everyone's tastes: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar and Snacks available all day long.

Restaurant L'Olympia
In the heart of the Village, next to the main swimming pool, this restaurant welcomes young and old alike in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

A terrace and a space open to the outside let you enjoy to the full the mild Mediterranean climate. The restaurant terrace is a smoking area.

Restaurant La Taverne:
Situated close to the beach, this restaurant offering local specialties offers top choice themed buffets. Smoking is permitted on the terrace.

The Hotel Bar:
In the heart of the hotel, this cozy bar, with its tranquil atmosphere, is open throughout the day, for young and old alike.

The swimming pool and bungalows Bar:
This bar, near the main restaurant, is the perfect companion for your days by the swimming pool or early in the evening. Its large covered pergola lets you enjoy cocktails and refreshments with friends.

The Beach

Located 280m from the Resort, the public beach of medium-grain grey sand stretches a distance of 160m. A few rocks lie on each side of the beach. Marked swimming area. The beach is equipped with showers, deckchairs and parasols.

Cuisine

Eat and drink a plenty! It's all included. A free and unlimited bar all week.

Indulge in al fresco dining at any of the restaurants, serving hot and cold buffet meals 21 hours a day. Exotic herbs and spices. Delicious pasta and pizza, charcoal meats and fish; fruit and vegetables.

Excursions (Fee Based, Prices available shortly! )

Argolide (1 day)
Enter into the Peloponnese through the Corinth Canal (UNESCO-listed site) . This exceptional day will take you to visit the monuments of Mycenae, classed among the finest architectural and archaeological marvels in Greece: The Lion's Gate, the treasure of Atreus (Agamemnon's tomb) and the Cyclopean walls, one of the oldest examples of military architecture.

After lunch in the picturesque port of Nauplion, you will discover the beauty of the site of Epidauris which owes its exceptional interest to its sumptuous theatre, where dramatic productions still take place today, and also to the charm of a peaceful landscape lined with pine woods.

Athenorama (1/2 day)
This afternoon in Athens will give you a chance to discover, at your own pace, the 1000 faces of the capital and its busy quarters: haggling at the Monastiraki bazaar, the changing of the Evzone guard on Syndagma square, the luxurious shop windows in Kolonaki or the Lycabette funicular.

Athens (1 day)
Visit Athens and see the highlights of its glorious history beginning at the Parthenon (UNESCO-listed site). Athens is a major cultural site for all lovers of ancient history.

After a traditional lunch at the foot of the Acropolis, you will also discover the Athens of today with the streets of the Plaka, Monastiraki or Kolonaki, and the main roads lined with beautiful neo-classical buildings. Cap Sounion Seated at the foot of the white columns of the Temple of Poseidon - a magnificent panorama stretches out allowing us to take in the Island of Euboea, the Cyclades and Argolis. At the tip of Attica, Cape Sounion occupies an admirable marine site. Called the 'sacred point' by the ancient Greeks, this 60 metres high cape plunges straight into the sea. The temple majestically standing on this headland was dedicated to Poseidon. From the rock overlooking the bay, the Athenians could see any suspect fleets long before they could reach Athens, that is quite naturally why they built a temple dedicated to Poseidon, God of the sea.

Cruise to the Saronic islands (1 day)
Aboard a cruise ship, navigate around the most beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf. Discover the amazing beauty of Pros (45min) -almost touching the Peloponnese coast - and Hydra (1hr 15mins), among the most beautiful islands in the archipelago, forms like an amphitheatre opening out onto the sea. It has many open-air tavernas and small beaches.

During the lunch served on board, you will navigate towards Aegina (2 hours), to the island of pistachios. During the crossing enjoy the traditional show, or if you prefer sunbathe on top deck.

Then to Delphi - It is not by accident that the Ancient Greeks chose this site as 'the navel of the world'. Legend has it that two eagles left from the ends of the earth to reach the centre and met in this place.

Perched like an eagle's nest above a ravine drop, Delphi reached its peak in the 4th century BC when the pilgrims consulted its oracle - said to express the words of Apollo. Crossing a sea of olive trees will lead you to the sanctuary of Apollo. This colossal temple harboured philosophical maxims such as: 'Know yourself'.

Admire the gracious rotunda of the Athena sanctuary which is the most remarkable monument of Delphi and the considerable treasures of the splendid museum of this ancient site.

Mykonos (1 day)
In the tangle of narrow alleys with lime washed paving slabs, fashionable boutiques rub shoulders with tiny churches decorated with floral arrangements. A torrent of bougainvillea pours over each street corner in Little Venice, against the backdrop of the famous windmills lined up on the hill. Beneath the glitter, the island is a charming place. During this free day, discover at your leisure the colourful port, the narrow streets winding between the white-walled houses, the Byzantine-style Panagia Paraportiani church or one of the many pale sandy beaches.

With an array of sporting activities throughout the day already included in your price and three glorious swimming pools there's plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy everything the resort has to offer.

For some guests we know you also want that little bit more, and never one to disappoint, we have a whole programme of afternoon events.

Non-stop Party
Warm up for the non-stop party on the Dance Floor with hi-jinks in the pool, a treasure hunt and our totally outrageous, world renowned, obviously wicked Foam Party. Fireman - point that hose! Need some down time? Dance the evening away at our sunset tea dance. All set against the fabulous backdrop of sea and incredable landscapes, which is Athens Greece.

Non-stop Party through the night
Non-stop party on the Dance Floor, expect something new this year! We party through the night with the sound of the waves and hot men everywhere. There's something for everyone at our night time parties!

Athens airport is 45 km from the Resort. The transfer takes 45 minutes.
