Day 2 - Monday, February 02, 2026
We begin our day with an early morning breakfast before setting off on a journey through Riyadh’s rich cultural and historical landmarks. Our first stop is the King Fahd National Library (KFNL), the official legal deposit and copyright library of Saudi Arabia. Founded in 1983 in response to a public initiative honoring King Fahd’s ascension to the throne, construction began in 1986. Today, KFNL is recognized for both its impressive collection and its sustainable, energy-efficient architectural design.
Next, we visit Al Rajhi Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Riyadh—and in the Arab world. Opened in 2004 and funded primarily by Saudi businessman Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Rajhi, the mosque showcases stunning Andalusian Moorish Revival architecture and serves as a major spiritual and cultural site.
We then make our way to the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), a dynamic mixed-use development in the Al-Aqeeq neighborhood. Managed by a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, KAFD features striking skyscrapers and cutting-edge urban design. The district is especially captivating in the evening, when its skyline lights up the night.
For lunch, we enjoy a traditional meal at a local restaurant, where we savor the flavors of authentic Saudi cuisine in a warm, heritage-inspired setting that reflects the culture of the Najd region.
In the afternoon, we explore historic Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the first Saudi state. As we walk through the At-Turaif district, we step back in time to see the preserved ruins of palaces, homes, and markets that once thrived here. One of the most prominent sites is Salwa Palace, built in 1765. Spanning 10,000 square meters, the palace once served as the seat of government during the era of the first Saudi state and was designed to offer both function and comfort, reflected in its seven residential units.
After a full day of exploration, we return to our hotel to relax and prepare for the evening.
We end the day with a welcome dinner at one of Riyadh’s premier Italian restaurants. Here, we enjoy a refined fine dining experience with authentic Italian flavors in an elegant setting.
We then return to our hotel for an overnight stay, ready to rest and recharge for the next day’s adventures.
