Adventure Bears Southern Caribbean Gay Group Cruise 2016
8 nights from/to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States
November 5 13, 2016
Princess Cruises Caribbean Princess
Join Adventure Bears gay group as we sail to the best known Southern Caribbean ABC Islands on the luxurious Caribbean Princess. Travel deeper into the Caribbean on the road less traveled to discover exotic landscapes brimming with natural, unspoiled beauty and unique plant and animal species native to the region. Imagine aquamarine seas ablaze with brightly colored coral reefs and schools of technicolor fish, breathtaking national parks, botanical gardens and world-renowned beaches in Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
Nestled deep in the Southern Caribbean, the ABC Islands of the Leeward Antilles – Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao – enjoy reliably balmy weather and are outside the usual hurricane zone. These are desert islands where cacti share the landscape with palm trees, and sparkling blue waters invite visitors to dive in. All three islands are part of the Netherlands, and most residents speak English, making them easy places to visit and enjoy.
On Aruba, cruise ships dock right in the capital city of Oranjestad, with lots of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance – and, the shopping is duty-free. There are wide, white sand beaches seemingly made for snorkeling and parasailing. You can play golf or ride a horse, visit a historic lighthouse or spend time at a butterfly farm. Or, you may decide to try your luck in one of Aruba's glittering casinos.
There are no casinos in Bonaire, a quiet island that is consistently rated among the best locations in the world for scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. Bonaire has long-standing laws to protect its coral reefs, and the entire coastline is designated as a marine sanctuary. Cruise ships dock in downtown Kralendijk, the capital, with shopping and dining a short walk away. Bonaire is one of the few Caribbean islands with a large population of flamingos, many of which live in a sanctuary on the island's south end.
Curacao, the largest ABC island, is known for its brightly-painted Dutch colonial houses – you'll see some of them as your ship approaches the city of Willemstad. The city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is brimming with historic and walkable neighborhoods. You can visit the Maritime Museum; the Jewish Historical Museum and a 350-year-old synagogue; or the Curacao Sea Aquarium, which houses many species of marine life that are native to the waters around the island. When you're ready for a break, try a cocktail made with authentic Curacao liqueur, flavored with the dried peel of the laraha citrus fruit grown on the island. Diving and snorkeling are popular on this island, too.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, US
Known as the "Venice of America," Fort Lauderdale has 165 miles of canals that wind through this waterfront city. With plenty of sun and sand, you'll find the beaches inviting and only minutes from elegant shops and championship golf courses. After dark, the town offers many five-star restaurants and exciting nightclubs, all set in a lush tropical environment.
People have been flocking to Fort Lauderdale's beaches for decades. And with good reason. Fort Lauderdale Beach is a two-mile strip of beautiful beach featuring the recently renovated Promenade, which offers all sorts of bars, restaurants and shops.
• Take a 30-minute airboat ride across the Everglades, one of the most breathtaking natural areas in America. Discover a variety of fish and birds that inhabit the area, and perhaps see the most famous Everglades inhabitant - the alligator. Enjoy Sawgrass Reptile Exhibit after your ride and take the opportunity to touch or possibly hold a small alligator. Discover the replica of a Seminole Indian village. See tropical birds, rare snakes, and even the endangered Florida panther.
• Take a narrated drive through Port Everglades over the Intercoastal Waterway and along the famous Fort Lauderdale Beach. Explore the International Swimming Hall of Fame, Las Olas Boulevard, the Riverwalk area and more. Stop and see Esplanade Park, the crossroads of the Center for Performing Arts and the Museum of Discovery and Science. Take a 90-minute Intercoastal Waterway cruise, and hear a lively commentary from the boat's captain on the history of the New River and Fort Lauderdale's historic sites.
Willemstad, Curacao
Surprising pastel colors adorn the Dutch style houses in Willemstad, the island's capital. As the largest of the Netherlands Antilles, Curacao lies 40 miles north of Venezuela and boasts 38 beautiful beaches, superb shopping and great snorkeling. It is also the origin and only source of the orange- flavored liqueur named for this intriguing island.
Whether you are an intense outdoor sports enthusiast, or content to laze on a sugar-sand beach, you will be in paradise on this fascinating island. Explore the Hato Caves, an elaborate network of stalactites and stalagmites with drawings at least 1,500 years old. Hike the trails of the 4,446-acre Christoffel National Park, filled with exotic wildlife and gardens. Diving enthusiasts will love the Mushroom Forest, an underwater jungle of 10-foot, mushroom-shaped star coral. For memorable shopping adventures, visit our capital city, Willemstad -- a charming port of high-end retailers, restaurants, and nightlife spots. It is one of the Caribbean's few UNESCO World Heritage cities. Vivid, sherbet-colored buildings showcase Dutch colonial architecture not to be found anywhere else outside of the Netherlands.
• Christoffel Park - A park with beautiful domestic flora and fauna, but also rich in culture and history. On request Guide tours, iguana presentation and jeep tour
• Curacao Sea Aquarium - The Curacao Sea Aquarium was developed directly on the oceanfront with a healthy coral reef only a stone's throw from the entrance. This beautiful aquarium complex is one of the most unique in the world because of its 'open-water-system', which means that sea water is continuously pumped into the aquarium.During the feeding shows you can touch and learn about the animals. For some real fun you can snorkel or scuba dive and hand feed stingrays, sea turtles, sharks and many other colorful tropical fish. For those who do not want to get wet, they can watch the fun of the divers whilst seated in the Underwater Observatory Boat. After all that excitement you can relax in the coolness of our museum and theater
• Den Dunki National Park - This park consisted of numerous ornamental water fountains, additions to the large well, and building of the impressive entrance bridge.
• Dolphin Academy - At the Dolphin Academy Curacao visitors get the opportunity to meet dolphins and swim, snorkel or even dive with these special animals in 6 different programs. There are suiting programs for everybody!
• Hato Caves - The Hato is the home to the beautiful limestone formations, romantic pools, waterfall and our famous Madonna statue. Also inside the Cave is a colony of seldom seen long nose fruit bats.
Kralendijk, Bonaire
Bonaire is without a doubt a "diver's paradise." Its license plates even state the same. But there is much more to this small Dutch country of 17,500 residents. "Bon Bini," as you will hear the friendly locals say, means "welcome to the island of Bonaire." Bonaire is located off the coast of Venezuela and has for years been known as a world-class diving and snorkeling destination. Diving and snorkeling are still the predominant activities, but today there is also a variety of other activities to enjoy such as kayaking, bird watching, and other eco-tours. Because of the hot and arid weather, Bonaire has been a major producer of sea salt. Do not miss the "white mountains" waiting to be shipped out and the salt flats where the salt is evaporated from the Caribbean Sea, which also happens to be home to another icon of Bonaire-the pink flamingo. Explore the Dutch architecture of the capital Kralendijk, enjoy the pristine coral reefs, or tour the scenic countryside. Whatever you decide to do in Bonaire, you are sure to have a fantastic time.
Oranjestad, Aruba
Located 15 miles north of Venezuela in the warm waters of the southern Caribbean, Aruba is home to beautiful white-sand beaches, 82-degree days, and some of the warmest people in the world. Our island is 19.6 miles long and 6 miles across, with a total area of 70 square miles. We're located just below the hurricane belt, and unlike many islands in the Caribbean, our climate is dry, so we rarely have a rainy day. On the south and west coasts of Aruba, you'll find Oranjestad, our capital city, and miles of beaches that have been named some of the best in the world. Here, you'll find most of the hotels and all-inclusive resorts in Aruba, and Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA). In the interior of the island, you'll find Arikok National Park, a desert like preserve with a variety of wildlife, cacti and dramatic rock formations. You'll also find some of Aruba's most striking views, as the ocean crashes against the rugged shoreline below. On the northeast coast, along the windward shore, you'll see our island's unofficial mascots, the fofoti trees. The constant trade winds have permanently sculpted them into graceful, southwesterly bending forms.
Fringing turquoise Caribbean waters, Aruba's beaches include wide shaded expanses, quiet retreats, and busy sunbathing and water sports meccas. Much of the seven-mile strip along the west coast is lined with resorts and packed with activity. Beachgoers relax on their comfortable lounges while swimming, snorkeling, kite surfing, water skiing, tubing, parasailing, banana-boating, and all kinds of wet'n wild adventures are just steps away.
