Barcelona is one of the most popular cities for cruises in the Mediterranean, and the port of Barcelona is ready to surprise you. Barcelona's gay nightlife. Among the “ramblas” we discover great food and rivers of beer, but we are always under the watchful eye of Gaudi, who captured and expressed the soul of this place. The city is home to an innovative contemporary art museum, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral and the Camp Nou. Also, after these popular destinations, you can discover the Catalan culture. Take a walk down La Rambla before visiting the Picasso Museum. The Spanish capital is packed full of memorable architecture.
Day 3 - Cadiz (Seville), Spain
Experience Spain’s vibrant culture on a Seville cruise, departing from the historic port of Cadiz. Drenched in Andalucian sunlight and scented with orange blossoms, the city sprawls along the Guadalquivir River. It boasts a rich Moorish legacy with three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, featuring gracefully adorned towers and palaces showcasing intricate Mudejar design. On your Cadiz cruise, explore the layers of Seville's history, from the world's largest Gothic cathedral, a former mosque, to ornate mansions echoing Spain’s colonial past. Wander through old neighborhoods, delight in leafy parks, and enjoy the region's iconic flamenco and sumptuous tapas.
Day 5 - Santa Cruz, Tenerife (Canary Islands) Santa Cruz is a cosmopolitan city of different influences and varied trends, as you can see from the mix of historic buildings and modern architecture. After leaving the port, start your tour with a visit of the Auditorio de Tenerife and the “Circulo de Amistad." Then take a visit to the Nuestra Señora de África market, where you will find crafts and artisanal products made from natural ingredients, as well as the famous wine of the region. Finally, check out the local cuisine made with potatoes, chilies and exotic spices.
Day 12 - Bridgetown, Barbados
You’ll dock in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados and an important port city in the Caribbean. What’s not to love about Barbados? Miles of sandy beaches, turquoise island waters, and an abundance of plantations and historic sites to tour mean you’ll find plenty to occupy you during your time here. Be sure to try traditional Barbadian dishes like cou cou and macaroni pie, and make time to enjoy a rum tasting or distillery tour.
Day 13 - Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe
When it comes to tropical destinations, most people have never heard of Guadeloupe. An overseas department of France and part of the European Union, it’s made up of two main islands shaped like a butterfly’s wings, plus a slew of surrounding isles and outcroppings. Pointe-à-Pitre is the main port in Grande-Terre, the easternmost of the two biggest islands, and receives travellers that are savvy enough to add this off-the-beaten-track archipelago to their Caribbean itinerary. You’ll find plenty of world-class beaches here – some buzzing with sun-seekers and some completely secluded – as well as lush, green jungles and dramatic mountains in Basse-Terre, Grande-Terre’s twin to the west.
Day 14 - Basseterre, St.Kitts
A cruise to St. Kitts will take you to Basseterre, the island’s bustling capital, an intriguing mix of whimsically colorful Caribbean architecture and stately Georgian buildings that date back to the 18th century.
St. Kitts and Nevis, its sleepy neighbor, may be small, but both islands offer plenty to see. Explore lush rainforest dominated by towering volcanoes, or unwind on long, sandy beaches. Admire the vibrant coral reefs and green, rolling countryside. Visit Brimstone Hill Fortress, one of the most impressive military structures you’ll see on a Caribbean cruise. There are also grand old country estates to explore, and a vintage railway to carry you through verdant landscapes and along the surf-pounded coastline.
Day 15 - Road Town, Tortola (British Virgin Islands) A British Virgin Islands cruise takes you to an archipelago made up of low mountains and rolling hills. Surrounding the peaks of the islands are gorgeous lagoons that are home to coral reefs and white sand beaches. The British Virgin Islands (BVI) encompass dozens of islands, though most are uninhabited. Tortola is the largest island followed by Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke, though to give you scale, Virgin Gorda is only eight square miles and Jost Van Dyke is even smaller at just three square miles. Despite their small size, a lot of beauty is packed into their coastlines.
Day 16 - La Romana, Dominican Republic
Landing at La Romana cruise port, you’ve easy access to the Dominican Republic good life. The surrounding area is a haven for beach lovers, golfers and divers. Playa La Minitas boasts crystal waters, white sands fringed with palms and chic beachside restaurants and cocktail bars. Around Bayahibe, you’ll find idyllic beaches and easy escapes to Saona Island (with mangrove forests, turtle sanctuaries and white-sand beaches) and scuba mecca, Catalina Island.
