Day 1 - Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is one of the most popular cities for cruises in the Mediterranean, and the port of Barcelona is ready to surprise you. Barcelona's gay nightlife. Among the “ramblas” we discover great food and rivers of beer, but we are always under the watchful eye of Gaudi, who captured and expressed the soul of this place. The city is home to an innovative contemporary art museum, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral and the Camp Nou. Also, after these popular destinations, you can discover the Catalan culture. Take a walk down La Rambla before visiting the Picasso Museum. The Spanish capital is packed full of memorable architecture.
Day 2 - Savona (Genoa), Italy
The port of Savona, which you can explore during your Transatlantic cruise, is one of the prettiest of the Italian Riviera. The lovely climate, summers that are never to hot, mild winters and the exceptional beauty of the sea near the town makes Savona an excellent base to set out to explore Liguria. Savona is notable for the Priamar Fortress, which has dominated the town since the 16th century, and also for its historic centre where you can visit Savona Cathedral. A stop in Savona can also be an opportunity to visit the nearby city of Genoa and its narrow, picturesque streets, known as “caruggi”.
Day 3 - Marseille, France
The stop in Marseille is a pleasant experience, where you can visit the bars and restaurants overlooking the port and sip a Pastis while you admire the surrounding landscape and the people who live there. Also called the ‘Porpoise City’, Marseille is France’s sunniest town, charming with its gullies you can swim in, its history, culture and restaurants with cosmopolitan cuisine. You cannot leave without having first toured on the “Cours Julien”, the street for shopping. The port of Marseille is perhaps a typical tourist destination, but it deserves to be visited for the ferry that leaves from the Town Hall and the old church, which replaced a Templar building.
Day 5 - Malaga, Spain
The port of Malaga is one of the access ports to the Spanish province. The city, perched on the Costa del Sol, is synonymous with art, culture and sunshine, while its hills invite you to explore the surrounding area. Here you will find the Cenachero, Platero and Biznaguero, three emblematic statues that surround the spirit of the place. For cars lovers, the automobile museum traces the history of the innovations seen in the industry. The Montes Natural Park offers several options for excursions of varying difficulty, from beginners to those trails for experienced hikers. Finally, we suggest that you do not miss a show of the Malagueña dancers.
Day 7 - Funchal, Madeira (Portugal)
It owes its name to the fennel plants found in the surrounding areas. The port of Funchal is the International Maritime Station of Madeira. The city is nestled in the mountains and has an atmosphere of tranquillity. Take advantage of the park for a brief visit to the Monte Palace tropical garden, a real paradise on Earth where vegetation and stone decorations create a wonderful harmony. If you want to get to know the locals and buy souvenirs, take a hike to the city market, the Mercado dos Lavradores, and finally, take the cable car to enjoy the amazing view of the city.
Day 8 - Santa Cruz, Tenerife (Canary Islands) Santa Cruz is a cosmopolitan city of different influences and varied trends, as you can see from the mix of historic buildings and modern architecture. After leaving the port, start your tour with a visit of the Auditorio de Tenerife and the “Circulo de Amistad." Then take a visit to the Nuestra Señora de África market, where you will find crafts and artisanal products made from natural ingredients, as well as the famous wine of the region. Finally, check out the local cuisine made with potatoes, chilies and exotic spices.
Day 15 - Philipsburg, St Maarten You can totally relax under the sun of this small half-Dutch and half-French island in the West Indies, and will discover a wonderful mix of cultures and genres unified in harmony. Hikers and cyclists will appreciate the splendour of the landscape, but those in search of sun and sea will adore the magnificent beaches with their crystalline, warm water, one of the great advantages of a visit to Sint Maarten. Sint Maarten is also famous for its nightlife, some of the best in the Caribbean.
Day 16 - Fort de France, Martinique The most beautiful memory you’ll take away with you from a cruise to Martinique will be its nature. The entire island is covered in mountains, including the soaring Pelée volcano to the north. If your journey to Martinique starts from the northern coast, you can visit the beautiful gardens of Ajoupa and delve into the tropical forest by following the Gorges de la Falaise. Leave the mountains, continue your cruise to Martinique relaxing on its magnificent beaches.
Day 17 - Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe
When it comes to tropical destinations, most people have never heard of Guadeloupe. An overseas department of France and part of the European Union, it’s made up of two main islands shaped like a butterfly’s wings, plus a slew of surrounding isles and outcroppings. Pointe-à-Pitre is the main port in Grande-Terre, the easternmost of the two biggest islands, and receives travellers that are savvy enough to add this off-the-beaten-track archipelago to their Caribbean itinerary. You’ll find plenty of world-class beaches here – some buzzing with sun-seekers and some completely secluded – as well as lush, green jungles and dramatic mountains in Basse-Terre, Grande-Terre’s twin to the west.
Day 18 - Basseterre, St.Kitts
A cruise to St. Kitts will take you to Basseterre, the island’s bustling capital, an intriguing mix of whimsically colorful Caribbean architecture and stately Georgian buildings that date back to the 18th century.
St. Kitts and Nevis, its sleepy neighbor, may be small, but both islands offer plenty to see. Explore lush rainforest dominated by towering volcanoes, or unwind on long, sandy beaches. Admire the vibrant coral reefs and green, rolling countryside. Visit Brimstone Hill Fortress, one of the most impressive military structures you’ll see on a Caribbean cruise. There are also grand old country estates to explore, and a vintage railway to carry you through verdant landscapes and along the surf-pounded coastline.
Day 19 - Road Town, Tortola (British Virgin Islands) A British Virgin Islands cruise takes you to an archipelago made up of low mountains and rolling hills. Surrounding the peaks of the islands are gorgeous lagoons that are home to coral reefs and white sand beaches. The British Virgin Islands (BVI) encompass dozens of islands, though most are uninhabited. Tortola is the largest island followed by Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke, though to give you scale, Virgin Gorda is only eight square miles and Jost Van Dyke is even smaller at just three square miles. Despite their small size, a lot of beauty is packed into their coastlines.
Day 20 - Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo offers unforgettable holidays with its landscapes and rich historical heritage. Take advantage for a tour around the city's colonial quarter. The stone-paved alleys and buildings typical of that period will take you back in time. Visit the Amber World Museum to admire the natural jewels and the Museum of the Royal Houses, which exhibits precious artefacts. Explore the National Botanical Gardens and the forts surrounding it.
