The Ship
Amadeus Waterways' newest ship the MS AmaCerto debuted in Europe in 2012. This deluxe 164 - passenger vessel incorporates the most advanced design featuring exclusive "Twin Balconies" in the majority of the spacious staterooms and suites (which range up to 350 sq. ft). Arrive in Cologne this morning, where you will have a walking tour of Old Town and Cathedral Square and visit the spectacular 13th-century gothic cathedral – its twin spires are among the tallest in Europe. Afterwards, you'll have free time to visit some of the local shops or have a coffee at a quaint cafe. Or, if you prefer, enjoy a glass of Kölsch, Cologne's famous smoked beer. Late tonight, the ship cruises to Rüdesheim overnight.

Thursday, August 14, 2014 Rüdesheim, Germany
This morning, cruise through the picturesque Rhine Gorge, with its castles, fortress ruins, and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Arrive in Rüdesheim, where you will enjoy an afternoon wine tasting with a local vintner. You'll have free time to explore the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants. This evening, visit Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, home to a remarkable collection of centuries-old robotic and self-playing musical instruments. As an alternative, sample a glass of Rüedesheimer coffee – a local favorite – at a friendly café. The ship sails overnight.

Arrive in Miltenberg for a walking tour of this delightful old Franconian town with its narrow cobblestone streets and gabled, half-timbered houses. During lunch, the ship will cruise to Freudenberg. A motor coach tour will take you to Wertheim, where you will see the historic city center followed by free time to explore the town on your own.

Saturday, August 16, 2014 Würzburg, Germany
This morning, take a guided tour of Würzburg showing you all of the major sights or visit the Residenz Palace and gardens, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe's best examples of Baroque architecture. This afternoon, take an optional excursion to medieval Rothenburg for a walking tour and free time to explore on your own. Later this afternoon, the ship sails to Bamberg.

The twin cities of Tournon and Tain l'Hermitage lie nestled among vineyards between the Rhône River and the granite slopes of the Hermitage. Tournon, with its imposing 16th-century castle and Roman ruins, is one of France's oldest medieval cities. Another charming town, Viviers, was developed around its Romanesque Cathedral, and the Old Town has an appealing mix of Christian, Roman, and medieval influences.
