Budapest, the capital of Hungary, can look back on an eventful history. It was founded in 1873, when the 3 districts Buda, Obuda and Pest united. Take the unique opportunity to get to know one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The local guides will pick you up directly at the moorage. The bus first drives along the banks of the Buda side, passes the "Gellert hill" and brings you up to the rise, where the castle of Budapest is located. Enjoy the admirable view over the Danube and the district of Pest.
The following tour (walking and by bus) through the city includes the Matthias-church (interior view), Fishermen's Bastion and the lovely narrow alleys of the picturesque old town of Buda. We cross the river by passing the old Chain Bridge and reach the quarter of Pest. We pass the imposing, 19th century St. Stephen's Basilica and drive in direction to "Heroes' Square", that was erected in 1856 to celebrate Hungary's 1000th year of existence. Before we head back to the ship, the bus drives along the neo-gothic parliament building, the town's landmark.

Nürnberg counts approximately 500'000 inhabitants and is the second largest city of Bavaria. It is an important industry and trade centre, what it partly owes the construction of the Rhine-Main-Danube-Canal. The old town, errected in the middle ages, underneath the proud Kaiserburg (imperial castle) and surrounded by towers and walls, is for tourists a sightseeing of first rate.
What was re-established after the heavy war damages, is admirable and, what rode out the destructions, is astonishing. The tour starts with a short bus transfer up to the castle where from you will have a beautiful view over the town. Following you will walk down to the old town that is completely surrounded by city walls. You will pass the house of the famous painter Duerer, the St. Sebald church and one of the biggest Renaissance town halls of Germany.
