Explore the colors and magic of South America. Join us for this most unique gay group cruise itinerary, to Chile, Peru and Panama! We'll sail on the stylish ship Azamara Quest from San Antonio, Chile to Panama City. The highlight of this exciting cruise is a visit to Lima, Peru where you'll have an opportunity to take a tour to the incredible beauty and history of Machu Picchu! When you cruise with Azamara your opportunities to explore this enchanting continent are endless. It's the perfect time to get away for the South American summer.
The main attractions to see while in the San Antonio, Chile cruise port are the iconic nearby cities of Chile, of which the capital city of Santiago is one of the most sought after. Santiago is an energetic metropolis with a robust food scene and plenty of arts and culture to experience. Some of the can’t-miss things to see and do in Santiago include the stately University District, the 16th century Plaza de Armas, the gothic Metropolitan Cathedral de Santiago, and the Royal Palace, which also serves as the National History Museum.
Chile is home to some fabulous wineries, and a wine-tasting tour is a great way to spend the day while in the San Antonio, Chile cruise port. You’ll drive past scenic vineyards in Casablanca Valley to beautiful wineries and tasting rooms. Be sure to try the Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. These varietals are some of the best that Chile is known for.
Take a hike or rent a bike and ride up the side of San Cristobal Hill, a famous hill in Santiago that has a popular lookout point at the top with gorgeous views of the surrounding city and mountains.
Coquimbo, Chile, features a dramatic coastal landscape where the desert meets the sea, and it’s celebrated for its rich maritime heritage and pristine beaches. Visitors can explore the historic port, wander through the picturesque Barrio Inglés, and enjoy panoramic views from the iconic Third Millennium Cross.
For a unique experience, venture to the nearby Elqui Valley, famed for its crystal-clear skies ideal for stargazing and its world-class pisco production.
Leisurely stroll the plaza, which is one of the top areas where tourists exploring Lima go. This UNESCO World Heritage site was founded by Francisco Pizarro in the 16th century. Today, it’s an important square where one can see many of Lima’s biggest sights concentrated in one area, like the Government Palace and the Lima Cathedral.
The best way to understand Lima’s culinary clout is through a food tour. It’s the perfect excursion for foodies and hungry travelers, where you’ll have the chance to sample all sorts of Peruvian specialties and delicacies. Lima Te Llena, Lima Tasty Tours, and Delectable Peru are just a few of the companies hosting food tours in Lima.
Panama City, Panama, is a dynamic metropolis where modern skyscrapers blend seamlessly with historic colonial architecture. Explore the renowned Panama Canal and witness the impressive engineering feats of the Miraflores Locks, which highlight the canal’s crucial role in global maritime trade. Stroll through the Casco Viejo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where cobblestone streets and vibrant plazas offer a glimpse into the city’s colonial past.
Delve into the local scene by visiting bustling markets, savoring diverse cuisine, and enjoying the city’s vibrant arts and entertainment. Experience the lively atmosphere of Panama City’s neighborhoods, where traditional Panamanian culture and contemporary
urban life come together, creating a destination that’s both historically rich and modernly captivating.

One of the busiest ports on the western coast of South America, the port of San Antonio is the gateway to Chile’s energetic capital city of Santiago, which is located about 90 minutes to the east of San Antonio. A busy port city surrounded by hills and coastal dunes, it lies on the north end of the Maipo River in the Valparaiso region of Chile.

A short drive from port is the country’s second-oldest city, La Serena. This colonial city is a popular summer holiday destination for Chileans, and it’s easy to see why with a tour along Avienda del Mar. Not one, not two, but twelve golden beaches stretch along the city’s coast, perfect for sport fishing or simply soaking up the sun.

Coastal town in the north of Chile, capital of the Tarapacà region, Iquique enjoys a unique location between the Pacific and the cliffs of the Cordillera de la Costa. Although the bustle of its harbour makes this a modern city, it also has many admirable relics from Chile’s past. You’ll love to stroll in the old centre, which is one of many preserved structures, such as the old aristocratic district of Paseo Baquedano or the neoclassical style municipal theatre.
Featured Excursions:
• Humberstone & Panoramic Iquique

• Best of Iquique
Day 5 - Arica, Chile

Arica, Chile is affectionately nicknamed the “city of eternal spring” for its year-round pleasant weather and verdant landscape. The snowmelt from the Andes Mountains flows into the valley, which is part of what makes the beauty of Arica so unique. It’s also famous because it rarely rains in this part of Chile, though a heavy fog can sometimes descend over the town.
