Day 2 - Wednesday, June 16, 2027
Africa awaits! And there is no better way to experience the majesty than to explore one of Africa’s greatest wildlife areas: the Serengeti. It’s the only place where you can witness millions of migrating wildebeest over the Acacia plains, it’s the cradle of human life, and probably the closest to an untouched African wilderness you will ever get.
We use local aircraft to fly you into the Serengeti National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the Big Five as we make our way to the incredible Four Seasons Serengeti Safari Lodge, our home for the next three nights. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch and take some time to explore the property and indulge in the comforts of your luxuriously-appointed accommodations. This afternoon, embark on your first safari to witness the incredible array of wildlife and to start checking off your list of sightings of the incredible “Big 5” – Elephant, Leopard, Lion, Cape Buffalo and Rhino.
After, return to the lodge where cocktails and a sumptuous dinner await before a restful night’s sleep.

Day 3 - Thursday, June 17, 2027
This morning, rise early for your morning safari. This time of the year is the time of the Great Wildebeest Migration, an annual, clockwise trek of over 1.5 million wildebeest, plus zebras and gazelles, across Tanzania’s Serengeti and into Kenya’s Masai Mara in search of rainfall and fresh grasses. The presence of these great wandering beasts brings in the predator species who follow the migration for their own survival.
Or, you may choose to take an optional balloon safari (weather permitting). This is an opportunity to witness the grandeur of the vast plains of the Serengeti for a very unique and unforgettable perspective, gliding peacefully across the skies in a colorful hot air balloon. See the Add-ons section on this page for more details, and be sure to lock in your place at the time of booking.
After your morning safari, return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast, thoughtfully prepared for you with the freshest ingredients. Then, spend the day in total relaxation, enjoying the lodge facilities including a serene spa, free-form pool infinity pool, fitness center, two boutiques, three restaurants, and all-inclusive food and beverage. You may also choose to spend time in the lodge’s Discovery Center – a unique and interactive place to learn about local wildlife, Maasai culture and history, and to get involved in ongoing research projects.
This afternoon, enjoy another sunset safari followed by an evening recounting your day’s adventures over cocktails and another gourmet dining experience.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 4 - Friday, June 18, 2027
Awake early and take another opportunity to witness the spectacle of the Great Wildebeest Migration as well as the plethora of other species that inhabit these vast plains.
Or, this morning brings a second opportunity to join an optional balloon safari (weather permitting). Again, see the Add-ons section on this page for more information.
With a selection of morning and late afternoon safari drives there will be ample opportunities to witness wildlife in their natural habitat.
This will be an unforgettable day as you learn more about the Serengeti in the hotel’s Discovery Centre. Alternatively, a pool and spa will offer relaxation while soaking up once of nature’s unique sceneries.
Dining is exquisite and a traditional "Bush Dinner" under the watchful protection of Maasai Tribespeople will be a memory to last a lifetime.

Day 5 - Saturday, June 19, 2027
This morning, enjoy one last safari and another sumptuous breakfast before we bid a fond farewell to the incredible Four Seasons staff and extraordinary guides. We’ll the board local flights to fly to Kilimanjaro airport, where our private jet is waiting to take us on our lunch time flight to Nosy Be in Madagascar.
Our aircraft offers 50 lie-flat seats in a two-by-two configuration ensuring all guest will either be seated at the window or the aisle. Premium catering, including an open bar, will make time onboard be a real treat, and the aircraft and crew will soon become a familiar part of your Africa adventure.
After clearing arrival formalities in Nosy Be, we travel to Mont Passot for an aperitif overlooking the Madagascan countryside. After, we make our way to the hotel, with time to refresh before dinner accompanied by a local dance group performance.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: Ravintsara Wellness Hotel, Nosy Be, Madagascar, 5*

Day 6 - Sunday, June 20, 2027
After breakfast, we set out by boat to Ampasipohy and enter Lokobe National Park, the last protected primary forest on Nosy Be. It is home to many varieties of endemic medicinal plants and ancient trees, lemurs, reptiles, chameleons and tropical birds. The Eulemur Macaco is the flagship species of the park. What makes this Park unique is the existence of primary forest to the edge of the sea as well as the presence of rock formations and viewpoints. The visit in the park is by walking (although not very strenuous) for approximately one hour.
We continue to the local village for refreshment before we board local dugouts and paddle to where our transport is waiting to take us back to the hotel in time for lunch.
This afternoon, Professor Jonah will give a lecture about the lemurs and the natural history of Madagascar.
Lemurs are endemic to Madagascar (and some nearby islands like Comoros), meaning they live nowhere else in the wild. There are about 100 species of lemurs ranging in size from tiny mouse size one to the large indri type. The name “lemur” comes from the Latin lemures, meaning “spirits of the dead,” because of their large reflective eyes and nocturnal habits.
This evening we enjoy dinner at the hotel.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: Ravintsara Wellness Hotel, Nosy Be, Madagascar, 5*

Day 7 - Monday, June 21, 2027
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we embark on a full-day trip to explore beyond Nosy Be itself. First, sail to Nosy Komba where we will visit the village of Ampangorina to see the handicraft products and the table clothes market. Nosy Komba is famous for sculpture, its colorful stalls and its smiling faces. Nosy Komba is the 2nd biggest volcanic island behind Nosy Be, and is best known for its small lemur sanctuary with black and brown lemur.
After the visit, we continue our journey as we sail to Nosy Tanikely to enjoy snorkeling and swimming including a picnic lunch.
Nosy Tanikely is a protected submarine natural reserve. Snorkeling equipment is all you need to enjoy a real-life size aquarium! A few steps from the beach, you can see all kinds of corals, anemones, multi colored fishes, shellfish, and if you are lucky you might even see turtles.
This evening, we enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 8 - Tuesday, June 22, 2027
Following breakfast, we leave behind Madagascan charm and the unique flora and fauna not to mention lemurs of this enchanting island, as we return to our private aircraft for a lunch time flight to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side.
Upon arrival, we travel to The Victoria Falls Hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore the historic Victoria Falls Hotel and its beautiful grounds. Tonight’s included dinner provides a choice of restaurants including the hotel, room service or two restaurant choices in Victoria Falls.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 5*

Day 9 - Wednesday, June 23, 2027
This morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we set out on a guided tour of the Falls to learn about its incredible size and water displacement, and the significance of the falls to the indigenous population. Today also offers the incredible experience of a 25-minute helicopter flight over Victoria Falls. The views of Victoria Falls from a birds eye perspective are simply unparalleled.
Victoria Falls was well-known to the local people for thousands of years before Scottish explorer David Livingstone became the first European to see it in 1855, naming it after Queen Victoria of Britain. Its local name is Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning “The Smoke That Thunders”. The falls became a major tourist destination in the late 20th century. June to August is often considered the “best” time for a combination of high water, comfortable temperatures, lush surroundings, and better visibility for photography at Victoria Falls, so we are here at an excellent time.
Our morning is rounded off with lunch at the “Lookout Café” offering breathtaking views over the gorge and the Zambezi River.
This evening, we board our private boat for a dinner cruise on the Zambezi River, which feeds the Falls. Take in the beautiful sunset as you spot hippos bathing and perhaps crocodiles taking in the last rays of the sun along the river bank.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: The Victoria Falls Hotel, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, 5*

Day 10 - Thursday, June 24, 2027
This morning, enjoy one last breakfast at the beautiful Victoria Falls Hotel before we head to the airport to rejoin our private jet for the flight to Walvis Bay, Namibia. Indulge in a gourmet lunch on board served by the ever-attentive crew.
Upon arrival at Walvis Bay International Airport, we clear immigration and customs formalities and then board our onward connection to Sossusvlei by smaller private aircraft. The flight to Sossusvlei will offer a spectacular view over the unique Namib landscape of shifting sands, which stretch endlessly, displaying a living desert tapestry of reds and golds.
We are met by the lodge staff at Sossusvlei Lodge Airfield with welcome drinks prior to being transferred to the lodge. On arrival, you will have the opportunity to freshen up before – later in the afternoon – joining your fellow-travelers for a sundowner drink under the camelthorn trees at the lodge. The quiet and peace of your surroundings will no doubt be a refreshing tonic after the activities at Victoria Falls.
Tonight, enjoy an al fresco buffet dinner with an expansive selection to cater to every taste. The remainder of the evening will be at leisure.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: Sossusvlei Lodge, Namb-Naukluft Park, Namibia, 4*

Day 11 - Friday, June 25, 2027
Today’s early start will ensure we make the most of our day. Sossusvlei is a dry clay depression surrounded by the highest dunes on earth. The apricot-colored sand dunes rise more than1,000 feet into the blue sky. In rainy years, the Tsauchab River flows into the depression, damming the water and attracting numerous animal species. But even in the dry season, various species of game and birds can be seen. After drying out, a cracked, light grey to white clay surface remains in the depression.
The monumentally high, star-shaped dunes of Sossusvlei surpass even those of the Sahara. We have the opportunity to climb some of these tall dunes, master Big Daddy and Dune 45, or take a walk of approximately .7 mile to the iconic Deadvlei. These dunes are a sought-after destination for photographers and artists alike.
While you explore the sea of dunes stretching as far as the eye can see, the team will prepare a full English breakfast to enjoy upon your return.

After breakfast, we will travel to Sesriem Canyon. The canyon was naturally carved out by the Tsauchab river in the local sedimentary rock, about one kilometer and up to 30 meters deep in some places. The name Sesriem is taken from the Afrikaans language and means “six leather thongs”, which is the length it required to haul water from the bottom.
Returning from our morning activities, the remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure before joining a sundowner drive, which will be followed by a buffet bush dinner under the stars. Certainly, a memory-making moment that will last a lifetime!
(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Important: Do not underestimate the sun and the high temperatures! Nor the bone-chilling cold in the winter months when the wind can last for days. Always wear a hat and don’t forget the sunscreen. The heat is easy to bear because of the dryness, but you should drink enough fluids. You can expect daytime temperatures well into the upper 80’s, but also near 32 degrees in the morning and evening!
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: Sossusvlei Lodge, Namb-Naukluft Park, Namibia, 4*

Day 12 - Saturday, June 26, 2027
Mid-morning, after a leisurely breakfast, we will transfer back to the Sossusvlei Lodge airfield for our flight connection to Walvis Bay Airport, where we will rejoin the awaiting private jet to take us on the lunchtime flight to Kigali in Rwanda.
After clearing arrival formalities in Kigali, we travel into the city sprawled across numerous hills, ridges and valleys. Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital, blends modern elegance with rich cultural heritage, offering travelers a safe, clean, and welcoming gateway to East Africa. The city’s proximity to breathtaking gorilla treks makes Kigali the perfect launchpad for unforgettable adventures.
Tonight we enjoy dinner at Milima restaurant in the hotel, one of Kigali’s best restaurants.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: Kigali Serena Hotel, Kigali, Rwanda, 5*

Day 13 - Sunday, June 27, 2027
Following an included breakfast at the hotel, we depart the hotel for a city tour of Kigali featuring the Genocide Memorial Museum. Kigali has been at the center of the country’s dedication to move past their tragic history, and make the country stronger and better than ever. The city has been hailed as one of the cleanest, safest and prettiest capital cities in Africa. This is unsurprising, considering the substantial strides Rwanda has taken to ameliorate the country, from its ban of plastic bags to the implementation of Umuganda which sees a monthly coalition of all citizens to clean up their neighborhoods. Kigali’s extensive development has also seen the growth of cultural and contemporary activities; shopping at trendy artisan hub Kigali Cultural Village, exploring the explosion of colors at Kimironko Market, enjoying the city’s burgeoning dining and café scene, or honoring the country’s painful past by visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Following lunch at Hotel Mille Collines, we depart the city and drive through to the scenic foothills of Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at your lodge for dinner & overnight.
In Rwanda, the group will be split across different lodges, though everyone will come together for gorilla trekking and the Dian Fossey experience. Depending on the ultimate size of the group, we’ll have three or four carefully chosen lodges, all of which deliver a consistently high level of service and comfort. The quality of each lodge ensures a seamless guest experience, with the real focus remaining on the unforgettable gorilla trekking.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Hotel: Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, or Amakoro Songa Lodge, or Amarembo by Touch Down, or Virunga Lodge, Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Day 14 - Monday, June 28, 2027
After an early breakfast, we drive the short distance to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for what no doubt will be one of the absolute highlights of the trip, our gorilla tracking adventure. Upon arrival, we will be split up into smaller groups and be given a full briefing by our trackers, who will inform us about the gorilla family we are tracking, what to expect during the track, how to behave when with the family, and how long we will be with them. Once the briefing is complete, we will meet porters who will help carry our backpacks and help with your footing during the hike. Then our driver guide will take us to the start of the trail head to begin our amazing adventure.
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda is often described as “life-changing” and with good reason. With just 1,000 gorillas left in the world, to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is a truly unique and memorable experience. Gorillas make their homes in and amongst the bamboo-covered slopes of the Virunga Mountains in the Volcanoes National Park. Our expert trackers will take us to visit habituated families of mountain gorillas where we can stay with them for an awe-inspiring hour, often crouching just a few feet away, while the gorillas go about their daily lives. Hikes in the mountains can last anywhere from one to six hours, depending on the family allocated to each group and their location. The journey back can take just as long, but you are often carried along by the euphoria you feel after sighting these majestic creatures.
At the end of this lifechanging experience we’ll return to our respective lodges in time for lunch.
This afternoon we visit The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund for a Silverback Sundowner experience. You are invited to tour the gallery and meet with gorilla experts in the Virunga Overlook Lounge to learn about the conservation work being done, including a Q&A session. Drinks and snacks will be provided during the event. After, we return to our lodges for dinner and a well-deserved night of sleep.

ALTERNATE EXPERIENCE**: For those looking for a less physically demanding experience today, we offer the option of Golden Monkey trekking. This experience is faster-paced, more lighthearted, and less physically demanding than Gorilla trekking, which is slower, more immersive, and emotionally intense due to the gorillas’ complex social behavior. Golden monkeys are small, agile primates with striking golden-orange fur, endemic to the Virunga Mountains.
Trekkers often encounter large troops of 30–100 monkeys. These monkeys are playful, fast-moving, and often leap through bamboo forests, making the experience lively and dynamic. The monkeys are found in lower elevations of Volcanoes National Park, especially in bamboo zones. Treks are generally shorter (1–2 hours) and less strenuous that gorilla trekking, making it suitable for a wider range of fitness levels.
**When booking you will be prompted to select your preference of Gorilla OR Golden Monkey trekking. Please be sure to stipulate your preference at the time of booking.

You’ll have a room at the hotel for day room use until 6pm, to rest, repack and refresh before your journey home later tonight. Later this evening, join your included transfer to the airport in plenty of time for your flight home or onward to another adventure.

Rwanda
June 28, 2027
Today, presents the opportunity to partake in one of two incredible experiences, Gorilla Trekking or Golden Monkey Trekking. Both options are included, but you may only choose one of the two activities, and your decision will likely hinge on your physical ability. Read the description of both activities below and make your election at the time of booking.
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is moderately to highly challenging, depending on factors like terrain, altitude, weather, and your fitness level. Volcanoes National Park sits at altitudes between 7,800 and 15,000 feet. (Denver, for purposes of comparison, is at 5,200; Machu Picchu is at 8,000.) Trails are often steep, slippery, and uneven. Depending on the location of the gorilla family, treks can be short (1–2 hours) or long (up to 6 hours). Hikers often navigate through thick underbrush, bamboo forests, and muddy paths. Some gorilla groups live at higher elevations, adding to the challenge.
Despite the effort, Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda is often described as “life-changing” and with good reason.

For those looking for a less physically demanding experience today, we offer the option of Golden Monkey trekking.

Comfortable, sporty, casual clothing is appropriate throughout this program. We suggest lightweight, light-colored, “expedition style” clothing in natural, moisture-wicking fabrics that may be layered. A mix of shirts, everyday slacks/pants, skirts/dresses, and walking shorts are appropriate. Early mornings, late evenings, and air-conditioned spaces may also require a light sweater or jacket.
Much more detailed packing suggestions will be provided closer to the start of the trip.

What are the vaccination requirements?
There are no vaccinations required to enter any of the countries on this itinerary with one exception. A yellow fever vaccine is required, but only if you’re coming from or transiting through a country with risk of Yellow Fever transmission (e.g., Kenya, Ethiopia, Brazil). However, we recommend consulting your doctor, a travel medicine clinic or consulting the US CDC, or your home country’s Center for Disease Control for recommendations such as Hepatitis, typhoid, malaria, etc.
What weather can I expect from this trip?
In June, average temperatures across Tanzania, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Rwanda range from mild to warm, with cooler nights and minimal rainfall—ideal for travel and wildlife viewing.
Expect temperatures to range from lows in the mid 40s Fahrenheit to highs of 91 degrees Fahrenheit. It is dry season throughout all of these countries, so you should expect minimal rainfall.
In Namibia, do not underestimate the sun and the high temperatures! Nor the bone-chilling cold in the winter months when the wind can last for days. Always wear a hat and don’t forget the sunscreen. The heat is easy to bear because of the dryness, but you should drink enough fluids. You can expect daytime temperatures well above 86 Fahrenheit, but also near 32 Fahrenheit in the morning and evening!
