For those who want to take it to the next level, there’s an optional sunrise hot-air balloon experience — floating above the pyramids as the day breaks over the valley. With our private guide, we’ll begin at El Pípila for sweeping views over hillsides of colorful homes, then wander the historic center—leafy plazas, grand churches, and a maze of cobblestone streets (and old subterranean tunnels) that give the city its irresistible character. We’ll also take in favorites like Guanajuato’s grand university, the striking Juárez Theatre, and the house-museum of Mexican muralist Diego Rivera.
Later, San Miguel welcomes us back with that New Year’s Eve buzz - cobblestone streets glowing, music drifting through courtyards, and the city slowly turning festive.
Spend the afternoon your way: a little shopping, a long lunch, maybe a rooftop cocktail as everything starts to sparkle.
As evening falls, we’ll gather for a Source-style celebration—beautifully set, full of flavor, and sprinkled with a few surprises. And at midnight, the countdown draws everyone to the historic center as fireworks light up the sky to welcome the year ahead.
