Day 1 - Paris, France
Welcome to Gay Paree, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After comfortably settling into your cabins, take some time to explore this fantastic city on your own, or just unwind with a cocktail and get to know your fellow OUTbounders up in the lounge. Later in the evening we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome reception before sitting down for dinner. Later tonight we’ll take a cruise on the Seine around the City of Lights as Paris comes alive after dark. We’ll remain docked in Paris overnight, so feel free to head OUTbound and explore this incredible city on your own this evening.
Day 2 - Paris, France This morning we’ll take a guided tour to discover the mythical sites of Paris. Since its foundation as Lutèce on the Île de la Cité, two thousand years of history have seen ecclesiastics, sovereigns and heads of state leave their mark on the city, building churches, erecting monuments and palaces, creating prestigious museums and outlining sumptuous perspectives. Our tour will take you past Bercy, the National Library, the Bastille, the Marais, the Latin Quarter, St. Germain, the Louvre, the Opéra Garnier, Place Vendôme, the Concorde, the Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, and of course the famous Eiffel Tower.
Day 3 - Vernon & Giverny, France Today is a celebration of northern France’s natural beauty as you immerse yourself in the very landscapes that inspired Impressionist master Claude Monet. You’ll have the opportunity to take in the French countryside as we travel through countless beautiful gardens and sweeping views overlooking the Seine. You’ll soon see why this region is considered one of the most beautiful in all of France. We’ll pass the church and cemetery where Monet is buried before arriving at the artist’s home for a tour and a chance to explore his famous gardens.
Day 4 - Duclair, France
A town in Seine-Maritime in region Normandy, Duclair is known as the Golden City, nestled on the banks of the Seine River along the famous road of the Abbeys, near Jumièges, St. Paer and Yainville. The construction wave of abbeys in the Middle Ages continues to attract visitors to the town. Duclair has had a turbulent history over the centuries, including the British invasion of the war Hundred Years and the famous Battle of Duclair in 1940. Duclair is also home to the famous ferry that has crossed the Seine for centuries.
Day 5 - Honfleur, France
Today we’re visiting Honfleur, the cradle of Impressionism, located at the mouth of the Seine as it flows into the English Channel. Untouched by the passage of time, this small port has kept the landmarks of its rich past, making it today one of the most visited towns in France. You’ll marvel at the rows of narrow houses squeezed against each other. Honfleur is home to Saint Catherine’s Church, the largest wooden church in France. It was listed as a historical monument in 1879 and has been the subject of scrupulous research by many archaeologists and historians.
Day 6 - Rouen, France
This morning we’ll indulge in leisurely cruising along the Seine. We’ll spend the afternoon in the medieval city of Rouen, preeminent capital of Normandy. Here you’ll explore the Old Town, where you'll see the spectacular Gothic Notre Dame Cathedral, often painted by Claude Monet, and the famous Gros Horloge, a 16th-century astronomical clock. As you walk among the half-timbered storybook buildings, you’ll be transported back through time, seeing the 14th-century courthouse where Joan of Arc was sentenced to death and the nearby Market Square where she was martyred.
Day 7 - Paris, France
Today we return to Paris, capitol city of France, offering a blend of imperial traditions, music, and endearing charm. A city that inspires with the old and the new alike, and always has a cozy place available in a coffee house or wine tavern. Take today to explore this amazing city in depth, either walking along the Champs-Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe, visiting the architectural wonder of the glass Pyramid before entering the Louvre to discover its many treasures, or taking in the breathtaking views from the top of the Eiffel Tower. Today is yours to explore the wonders of Gay Paree!
Day 8 - Paris, France
It’s our final day together in Gay Paree, so make the most of it! The center of gay Paris is the Marais, an old district in the 4th Arrondissement of Paris with lovely, narrow streets breathing centuries-old history. You’ll find a good deal of gay bars, cafés and shops here, as well as plenty of gay-friendly eateries. The Marais is right in the heart of Paris where you’ll find plenty of activities and things to do, walking distance to some of Paris’s best museums and culture. The close-knit community of the Marais makes it a lively and happening place to explore both at night and during the day.
