Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas
Pack your bags, grab the kids (if you have them) and get ready for a summer adventure designed for the entire LGBTQ community and their family & friends. We depart from Los Angeles aboard the incredible Quantum of the Seas. As always, EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Our cruise has two exciting ports of call - Catalina Island, California and Ensenada, Mexico. Enjoy exclusive R Family entertainment and activities. We promise you will make meet some of your new best friends on your vacation. This cruise is designed for the entire LGBTQ community, along with their friends and families.
Thinking about a lesbian or gay vacation where everyone is welcome? Wondering what to do with the spouse and kids for the summer? Wondering if you can bring your parents, siblings, and friends with you? Looking for a gay-friendly beach destination to have a family reunion? Join your closest LGBT family & friends (everyone can join us—kids are welcome but not required) as we sail round-trip out of gay friendly Los Angeles with stops in Catalina Island, Ensenada, and thrilling day at sea.
Explore natural wonders onboard Quantum of the Seas
Just south of Los Angeles, you’ll discover a tiny slice of paradise. Natural conservation and ecological tourism is a huge motivator for Catalina Island cruise visitors hoping to find time in the great outdoors. Vehicles are largely restricted on the island, so cycling and hiking are incredibly popular for residents. Watch the boats float peacefully in the harbor at Green Pleasure Pier, then head inland to the Catalina Island Museum, where you’ll discover the history of the island from thousands of years ago to today.
Ensenada cruise port of call takes you to a colorful, exciting city where you can enjoy the bustle along its broad promenade, head into the quiet of wine country, or dive into local history and culture found at its museums. Aside from its cosmopolitan sights, Ensenada is also close to impressive natural wonders and long, sandy beaches. Ensenada is also home to the largest production of wine in Mexico, thanks to its proximity to the Guadalupe Valley.
If you’re looking for a beach experience during your time in Ensenada, Rosarito Beach is a great one to visit. Located a short distance south of Ensenada, this laidback beach town is perfect for sunbathing or doing water sports like surfing, bodyboarding, and kitesurfing.
Just Try to Top the Quantum of the Seas
Set out adventures onboard this Quantum Class favorite and snag a front row seat to jaw-dropping scenery onboard Quantum of the Seas. From RipCord® by iFLY® skydiving simulator to the robotic bartenders of the Bionic Bar®, this adventure packed ship has endless ways to fill your days between scenery scoping and adventure seeking onshore.
The Quantum of the Seas boasts thrilling features that will take your cruise experience to new heights. Try skydiving at sea in a state-of-the-art simulator, challenge the kids to bumper car races, or take in stunning views from the North Star capsule, which lifts you high above the ocean. Want more? Attend circus school or enjoy other exciting activities on board.
The Quantum of the Seas offers endless entertainment options. Watch first-run movies by the pool on a massive 220-foot screen, conquer the rock-climbing wall, or test your luck at Casino Royale. The ship also offers live music, stunning aerial performances, and an array of activities for kids at their own water park and youth programs. Meanwhile, adults can find peace and tranquility in the Solarium.
When it comes to dining, the Quantum of the Seas has something for everyone. Savor the flavors of the first American gastropub at sea, Michael's Genuine Pub, or explore a variety of cuisines including pizza, Mexican, Japanese, and Brazilian.
Endless Ways To Play Seize every sea day with revolutionary ways to play onboard, including a soaring good time on the only skydiving simulator at sea — Ripcord® by iFly®, glow-in-the-dark face-offs in Laser Tag: Clash for the Crystal City, and mind-bending puzzles in an all-new Royal Escape Room.
So Much to Sip & Savor Feast on far-out flavors from far-flung places, like American steakhouse classics at Chops Grille, fresh hand-rolled sushi at Izumi Japanese Cuisine and Tuscan favorites at Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver. Then cap off your meal — or kick off your night — with some robot-crafted cocktails from the future at Bionic Bar.
Thrilling Theatrics
Every show onboard Quantum of the Seas is designed to dazzle. The original production Starwater dives into the nature of human emotion in a groundbreaking fusion of live performance and technology. And in Sonic Odyssey, music, performance, art and innovation combine to deliver one immersive onstage experience.

Day 1 - Los Angeles, California
The trend-setting global metropolis of Los Angeles has it all. Get to know the Entertainment Capital of the World: Stroll the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and take a drive down cinematic Sunset Boulevard. But there's a lot more to explore in LA than its star-studded heritage. Enjoy the 75 miles of coastline: Wander the famous canals of Venice Beach, or drive out to the more remote Malibu coast. Get your culture on at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, home to everything from ancient Islamic artifacts to contemporary American art. Or stretch your legs with a hike at Runyon Canyon Park — it offers great views of the surrounding hills and the iconic Hollywood sign.
Day 2 - Fun Day at Sea!
Buckle up and take the wheel for nonstop fun on the only bumper cars at sea. Rush hour gets a thrilling spin at the largest indoor activity space ever to set sail — SeaPlex®. The largest indoor active space at sea is only on Royal Caribbean®. Basketball and bumper cars — it's the first time you'll ever play like this on a cruise.
Grab your board and get ready for 30,000 gallons of rushing awesome headed your way. The surf’s always up on the 40-foot-long FlowRider® surf simulator.
Slip away to this adults-only indoor and outdoor retreat. The Solarium is your slice of paradise, with soothing whirlpools, warm sunshine and a refreshing water mist.
Day 3 - Catalina Island, California
Located off the coast of California, Catalina Island is a little paradise, perfect for a day of unwinding and exploring. Everything is within walking distance, so have fun with the family exploring the town of Avalon or grab your hiking shoes and hit the trails. If you're looking to relax by the seaside, head to Descanso Beach Club, which is considered the nicest beach on the island, or set sail on a catamaran to circle the island and take it all in. Skip stones at the pebbly Moonstone Beach or Starlight, or walk along the boardwalk as the sun begins to set. Head to the top of Mount Orizaba for some of the best views of the island, or spend the day exploring the 38-mile Trans Catalina Trail, a popular eco-activity for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds of fitness levels. With the help of the friendly resort vibe and beautiful nature, you won’t find it hard to unwind on Catalina Island.
Day 4 - Ensenada, Mexico
Exploring Ensenada, Mexico invites vibrant tastes and unforgettable adventures. Perched on the Pacific, there’s endless exhilaration waiting on either side of the gold, palm fringed shores of Estero and Mona Lisa beaches — whether you’re looking for bucket-list worthy boasts or authentic Baja flavors. Take to the water and watch for whales. Hike to the top of the towering waterfall of El Salto canyon. Or dive headfirst into the foodie-forward culture famous for its fish tacos and fresh ceviche. No matter what you’re craving, it’s all on the menu. La Bufadora is the name given to a huge blowhole located by Ensenada. At one of the largest blowholes in North America, watch as Pacific waves rush through a cave and up into the air every few minutes, sometimes with a blowhole fountain that reaches 100 feet high.
Day 5 - Los Angeles, California Los Angeles is one of the best destinations on earth for gay travelers. The population of West Hollywood is roughly 40% LGBT+, making it one of the gayest neighbourhoods on earth – arguably the gayest in any big city. Hollywood was always a magnet for bohemians and liberal minded people – long before being gay was legal. That made Los Angeles an appealing destination for LGBT+ Americans. There are many excellent gay bars and clubs in Los Angeles. The nightlife is pretty wild! LA is not just a plastic fantastic home to stars and aspiring actors; it’s also a major cultural destination. LA is a big city and it’s quite spread out, so it’s best to explore specific areas, such as WeHo and Little Venice.
