Day 2 - Monday, September 18, 2028
This morning, walk through Tiananmen Square before entering the Forbidden City, the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties for nearly 500 years. After lunch at a local restaurant, head to the Summer Palace, where a private boat ride across Kunming Lake caps off an afternoon among its pavilions, pagodas, and gardens. Tonight, celebrate with a welcome dinner featuring Peking duck.

Day 5 - Thursday, September 21, 2028
Board a high speed train to Xi’an (approximately 4 hours, with lunch served on board). Upon arrival, check into The Ritz-Carlton Xi’an and begin sightseeing with a visit to the Bell and Drum Towers, two Ming dynasty landmarks at the heart of the city, followed by the Great Mosque of Xi’an, a rare fusion of Chinese courtyard architecture and Islamic worship that has served the local Hui Muslim community for over 1,200 years.

Visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses, the resident army guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin. This evening, enjoy VIP seating for the welcome ceremony and evening spectacle at the South City Gate, featuring the Chang’an Impression show.

Board a private raft for a cruise through the most scenic stretch of the Li River. This evening, take in “Liu San Jie,” Zhang Yimou’s sound and light performance set against the Guilin countryside.

What arrival and departure transfers are included?
This package includes an arrival transfer from the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to the Waldorf Astoria Beijing hotel and a departure transfer from the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund hotel to the Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) International Airport.
If you extend your stay at these properties, the transfers will still be included.

Is there a dress code?
You are on vacation as the last thing we want to impose is a dress code. We will however appreciate you wearing more than a thong or mankini at lunch and dinner. Be as dressed up or down as you see fit as long as you are comfortable and dress appropriately for changeable weather.
