 Maspalomas Carnival is one of Gran Canaria's most colourful events with parades, drag queens and sequins, as far as the eye can see! It is the perfect way to enjoy a Carnival experience without the cold, with Maspalomas welcoming visitors with temperatures averaging 22 degrees in the afternoon. Maspalomas Carnival is famous for its many parties and events, from comparsas (dance troupes) to murgas (music groups) and hundreds of over the top drag queens! During the day, rondallas (a strings ensemble), theatre performances and troupes take to the town's streets, creating a unique party vibe.
From March 2 to 14, 2027, the south of Gran Canaria will once again come alive with vibrant hues and energetic celebrations: the International Maspalomas Carnival returns! This year’s enchanting theme is "World of Toys".
Maspalomas Carnival is one of Gran Canaria’s most iconic festivals, officially declared a 'Fiesta de Interés Turístico de las Islas Canarias' — and it shows. Spectacular galas, a legendary Drag Queen show, the massive Gran Cabalgata parade, free street parties (mogollones) running until dawn, and yes, a dog carnival you didn’t know you needed in your life All major galas and street events take place in and around Playa del Inglés. The main carnival hub is the Yumbo Centrum area. The Gran Cabalgata runs through the main tourist avenues of southern Gran Canaria. Temperatures sit around 20–22°C in March. Most galas are in the evening. Mornings are for the beach. You’re welcome.
All-night street parties attract thousands upon thousands of revellers, including the “Mogollon” Street party, one of the busiest. You'll be hard-pushed to find any Spanish boy not dressed in costume!
Playa del Inglés transforms into a festive stage where people from around the world gather to celebrate life. The streets fill with music and dance, the atmosphere is joyful and spirited, and everyone is welcome, regardless of age, background or outfit. Because that is the magic of carnival: freedom, connection and joy.
Festivities end with a sometimes comical and often sombre affair, the Rescue and Burial of the Sardine, an ancient Carnival Tradition that marks the end of the celebrations for another year. Another much-loved evening is the election of the Carnival Queen.
Day 1 - Wednesday, March 10, 2027
• Arrival transfer from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) to your hotel in Maspalomas by private Car, Minivan or Bus.

• In the afternoon, enjoy a Gay Tour of Maspalomas with our local LGBT Friendly Tour Guide discovering the area, tips and pride hotspots.
• Rest of the afternoon free to explore the magnificent Maspalomas Dunes.
• In the evening, enjoy a special Welcome Dinner at a Local Restaurant in Maspalomas (drinks excluded). • Back to your hotel and overnight.

Day 2 - Thursday, March 11, 2027
• Buffet breakfast and free time in the morning for relax.
• Lunch on your own.
• In the afternoon, be ready for the colorful and energetic Show Comparsas (Carnival dance groups) performing at Playa del Inglés. • Free time for dinner on your own.
• In the evening, head to the Yumbo Centre for the spectacular and world-famous Gala Drag Queen.
• The epic Drag Queen Gala is glamorous and competitive, held on the Thursday of the event. Drag queens from across Spain and beyond compete for the title of Maspalomas Carnival Drag Queen. The event is held in the Yumbo Centre, the heart of gay Maspalomas, on a purpose-built stage. Expect death-defying performances as Drag Queens duel in over the top costumes and high heels. The event is televised live and is watched across Spain. • Back to your hotel and overnight.
Day 3 - Friday, March 12, 2027
• Buffet breakfast and free time in the morning for relax and enjoying the sun.
• Lunch on your own. • In the afternoon, enjoy free time for shopping to get your best costumes and accessories ready for the upcoming Gran Cabalgata.
• Dinner on your own and rest of the night free for party at the Yumbo Center. • Overnight at your hotel.
Day 4 - Saturday, March 13, 2027
• Buffet breakfast and free time in the morning for relax.
• Lunch on your own.
• In the afternoon, prepare for the highlight of the festival: the magnificent Show Gran Cabalgata parade (starting from 17:00), filled with music, floats, and pure joy.
• The Carnival Parade route begins at El Veril in Playa del Inglés, crosses through Av. de Italia, Av. de Gran Canaria and ends at Av. de Touroperator TUI. Previous events have featured more than 100 floats (carrozas in Spanish), and the parade takes several hours to reach its final destination.
• Dinner on your own and rest of the night free for party.
• Overnight at your hotel.
Day 5 - Sunday, March 14, 2027
• Buffet breakfast at your hotel.
• Enjoy free time to experience the vibrant Beach Carnival in the sun.
• Lunch on your own.
• In the afternoon, witness the traditional and dramatic closing Show Enterramiento de la Sardina (Burial of the Sardine). • Dinner on your own and rest of the night free for the final carnival celebrations.
• Overnight at your hotel.
Day 6 - Monday, March 15, 2027
• Buffet breakfast and free time in the morning for final walks or some souvenir shopping.
• Lunch on your own.
• Private transfer by Car, Minivan or Bus from your Maspalomas Hotel to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Airport (LPA).
