Day 2 - Manila, Philippines
Magandang umaga (good morning), Manila! Today is all about delving into the city’s fascinating history, culture, and cuisine.

We’ll begin with a ferry ride along the Pasig River before strolling through quaint streets with multicultural influences.

Along the way, we’ll graze on unique street foods and visit top foodie destinations like Wai Ying and The Original Shanghai Fried Siopao.

Later, we’ll visit the historical enclave of Intramuros, a well-preserved colonial area with landmarks such as Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church & Museum, and Casa Manila.

Afterwards, we’ll indulge in Manila’s modern side by riding the iconic Jeepney to the trendy BGC area for a tour of its hotspots.

Tonight, we’re in for a treat as we’ve arranged a swanky cocktail hour and dinner with several high-profile LGBTQ+ locals including the resident architect of the Henry Hotel (where we’re staying), as well as a fashion designer, an art curator, and a few friendly locals from our neighborhood.

Rise and shine! Today begins early with breakfast before our first included island hop flight to Bohol.

Upon landing and a quick stop for lunch, we’ll enjoy the tropical views on our way to a tarsier sanctuary, where we’ll gaze upon these adorable tiny primates and learn about their habits as well as conservation efforts to protect them.

This afternoon, we’ll check into our sprawling riverside resort built in harmony with nature. Explore along the banks of the serene Loboc River, take a dip in the pool, or kick back with a libation and soak up some sun.

Tonight, we’ll gather for an included dinner designed to welcome us to this idyllic resort.

Our included lunch may be enjoyed by the riverbank or at the camp’s farm-to-table restaurant.

Day 5 - From Bohol to El Nido, Palawan
Waking up in paradise never felt so good! This morning is completely free for us to relax, swim, or stroll the grounds of the utopic resort.

Midway through the day, we’ll wave goodbye and transfer to the airport for our included hop to El Nido on beautiful Palawan Island, home to some of the most breathtaking seascapes in the world.

Day 6 - El Nido, Palawan
Fuel up on an included breakfast, because today’s swashbuckling adventure is when the real island-hopping begins!

We’ll start by setting sail for Secret Lagoon, a secluded spot on an island surrounded by limestone karst cliffs. Upon accessing the lagoon through its narrow opening, we’ll marvel at a stunning caldera encircled by towering cliffs.

From there, we’ll head to Shimizu Island, known for the swiftlets that build nests along its cliffs. Here, we’ll enjoy a hearty meal prepared by our guides, then snorkel over colorful coral reefs teeming with diverse marine life.

Later, we’ll sail to Big Lagoon, known for its crystal-clear waters and majestic limestone formations.

Our day wraps up at Seven Commandos Beach, named after the seven Japanese soldiers who hid there after World War II. The pristine white beach, lined with swaying palm trees, provides a picture-perfect ending to our sun-kissed day on the seas.

Tonight, we return to the resort and dinner will be at our leisure.

Note: All island-hopping days feature loose itineraries that may change based on weather, winds and other conditions outside of our control.

Ginto Island mesh tents

Day 7 - Ginto Island Expedition
After an included breakfast, we’ll check out of our beach resort with overnight bags in hand, and transfer across the island to Dipnay port to board our boat and begin our island castaway experience!

For this one-of-a-kind excursion, we’ll set sail to several rarely-visited islands, finally arriving at Ginto Island where we’ll spend the night camping by the sea in single-person mesh tents underneath an endlessly starry sky.

Activities include a demonstration on how to make ceviche, massage and hat weaving lessons, mixology, and fire-dancing.

Our boat crew will handle all meal preparations and ensure our comfort, however there is no electricity on the island, so remember to bring portable chargers and flashlights, and note that there will be no outlets for C-PAP machines. A permanent structure will provide shelter in case of rain, a bonfire can be lit after dark, and there is a clean manual flush toilet.

As evening sets in, we’ll gather around the fire, disconnected from the world, with only the sounds of exotic birds and crashing waves lulling us to sleep.

This off-the-grid escape is sure to be one of the most unique and memorable experiences of the trip, and worth the discomfort!

This afternoon, we’re free to wander our luxury resort, relax in one of the infinity pools overlooking the pristine beach, hike to the top of the surrounding cliffs, kayak through the bay, snorkel with the abundant marine life, or enjoy some downtime in our spacious beach villas.

Tonight’s dinner is at our leisure.

Trip Notes

Philippines Visa
Most tourists visiting the Philippines for fewer than 30 days are not required to obtain a visa in advance of their arrival. Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after the date you enter the Philippines.

Culture Shock
While the Philippines is known for its friendly and hospitable culture, and major cities and tourist destinations are increasingly open and inclusive, there are still some challenges. In popular tourist spots like Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and Palawan, LGBTQ+ travellers are generally welcomed, and these areas often have thriving LGBTQ+ communities and venues. However, in more rural or conservative areas, travellers might face social attitudes that are less accepting.

Boracay Island gay trip

Local LGBT Scene
Manila and Boracay offer lively gay nightlife and cosmopolitan vibes. In Manila, visitors will find a thriving LGBTQ+ community with a wide array of bars, clubs, and events, particularly in the Poblacion neighborhood. Boracay, renowned for its laid-back atmosphere, also hosts lively LGBTQ+ gatherings and inclusive beach parties.

Weather
In March, the Philippines typically enjoys warm and pleasant weather as it transitions from the cooler dry season into the hotter months. Daytime temperatures usually range from 77°F to 89°F (25°C to 32°C), with lower humidity and plenty of sunshine. This period is ideal for beach outings and outdoor activities, though occasional brief showers may occur, particularly in the latter part of the month.

Required Vaccinations
Based on the entry requirements for the Philippines, there are no mandatory vaccinations. To determine if you should take preventative measures to reduce the risk of illness, consult with your doctor or a travel medical clinic. We cannot provide vaccination recommendations.

Electricity
You will need an international travel plug/adapter for Type A, B, and C sockets. During our Ginto Island camping experience (1 night), there will be no electricity to power/charge devices, including C-PAP machines.

El Nido gay trip

Connectivity
All of our hotels will have Wi-Fi access. If you require connectivity, we recommend purchasing an international data plan or local SIM card (with an unlocked device). Even with a SIM card or roaming plan, coverage may be weak. On days 7 and 8, we’ll have no connectivity while camping on Ginto Island.

Travel Insurance
For everybody’s peace of mind, medical travel insurance is required on this tour. At a minimum, your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability, with a minimum medical coverage of US $200,000.

Palawan gay holidays

Physical Preparedness
This tour is rated 2.5/5. All guests must have a good level of health. All tours, regardless of activity level, involve uneven steps, stairs, walking tours, and you will be required to carry your own luggage from time to time. On this trip, you will be required to hop in and out of boats into shallow water. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate individuals with limited mobility unless they are willing to absorb the cost of a private guide/assistant which varies by country and is only possible on a case by case basis. It is also your responsibility to advise us of any pre-existing medical conditions that may increase the risk of you requiring medical attention, or that may affect the normal conduct of the tour and the enjoyment of the tour by other participants.

Meals
Daily breakfast, 5 lunches, and 6 dinners are included.

Manila Forest Park

Money
The local currency is the Philippine peso. Credit cards are accepted in most tourist destinations and at the resorts, but it’s a good idea to carry some local currency for smaller shops that will only accept cash and G-Cash (a local mobile wallet).
NOTE: We recommend carrying approximately $400 USD to be used in case of an emergency, or if your credit/ATM cards are placed on hold. This should be in addition to any spending money.

Tipping
If you are happy with the services throughout your trip, a tip is recommended. Tipping details will be provided in your final trip documentation, however we recommend budgeting approximately $140 – $200 USD.

What to bring
Our adventure entail carrying your own luggage on occasion. Our packing list is a guideline, not gospel. Our specialists are happy to answer any specific questions about how much or little to bring.

Flying Solo
If you’ve never travelled on your own, it’s an amazing way to get to know yourself while making new friends along the way. We can arrange for you to share a room with people in your age range at no charge, or you can pay a supplement for your own room. If there’s an odd number of solos, we’ll rotate a single room on a random basis.

How We Travel
Out Adventures is all about good times with like-minded folks. Whether we’re sitting around a campfire or indulging in five-star decadence, our goal is to make the experience magical. We also support the communities we visit by hiring local guides, staying at locally-owned accommodations whenever possible, and seeking out authentic local cuisine. It all adds up to a great way to immerse yourself in the culture.

Your Guide
All Out Adventures are led by a gay (or gay-welcoming) guide. Whenever possible, we hire destination locals. And we can also connect you with the right people if you’d like to delve deeper into the local culture.

Fellow Adventurers
Our tours are a great way to meet people from around the world and all walks of life. Bear in mind that everybody’s there for a good time, so mutual respect will go a long way. Please be on time for any meetups, empathetic to the needs of others, and ready to roll with whatever the adventure brings.
Although we can’t tell you who your fellow travellers will be for privacy reasons, we can tell you many great friendships began with our tour. And just because we’re a gay travel company doesn’t mean we’re exclusive: friends and family are always welcome to join the fun.

Groups Within Groups
We love when groups of friends join us on an OUT Adventure, whether you’re celebrating a major milestone, or you just love to travel together. However, since we have travellers that will be flying solo, or as a couple, we would love your help ensuring everybody feels welcome and has an epic time.
