Each day brings a new way to experience the rainforest — from sunrise wildlife safaris and guided jungle walks to peaceful paddles through quiet waterways, village visits, stargazing, and moments of awe as the Amazon reveals its endless beauty.
This is a journey into one of the most biodiverse places on Earth, where every bend in the river offers the possibility of a new discovery. Guided by expert naturalists, we’ll gain a deeper understanding of the rainforest’s remarkable ecosystems, its wildlife, and the communities that call this region home.

Day 1 - Arrive in Lima, Peru
Welcome to Peru. Upon arrival in Lima, transfer to the elegant Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel, set in one of the city’s most desirable coastal neighborhoods overlooking the Pacific.
After time to settle in and refresh from your travels, gather this evening for our welcome dinner. It’s the perfect beginning to our Amazon adventure, a chance to meet your fellow travelers, toast the journey ahead, and enjoy Lima’s celebrated culinary spirit before we venture deep into the rainforest.
Day 2 - Lima to Iquitos | Embark Pure Amazon
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight to Iquitos, the gateway to the Peruvian Amazon. From here, we continue by road with our guides to the remote river town of Nauta, set along the banks of the Marañón River.
This afternoon, we are welcomed aboard Pure Amazon, our elegant home for the next seven nights. Settle into your suite or cabin, take in your first views of the river, and gather in the Jungle Lounge for a welcome briefing with our expert guides.
This evening, enjoy dinner onboard as Pure Amazon begins her journey into the rainforest, cruising overnight toward Yuracocha and the wild beauty of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
Day 3 - Supay Creek & Yanallpa
Begin the day with a sunrise skiff excursion through the quiet blackwater channels of Supay Creek, where birdsong, tropical color, and the calls of howler monkeys introduce us to the rhythms of the rainforest.
Later, continue exploring by skiff or try catch-and-release fishing with our guides before Pure Amazon cruises toward Yanallpa, a “terra firma” forest area that remains above the floodwaters. Here, we set out on a guided jungle walk and visit a riverside community for a glimpse into daily life along the Amazon.
Day 4 - Pacaya River
Set out by skiff along the remote Pacaya River, one of the most beautiful and wildlife-rich areas of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. As the forest comes alive, watch for macaws, toucans, monkeys, and perhaps even the rare giant river otter among the flooded trees and winding waterways.
Later, choose to explore by skiff, kayak, or take a refreshing swim in the calm blackwater, an unforgettable way to experience the Amazon. As evening falls, venture out again by skiff for a night safari, looking for glowing caiman eyes, night monkeys, bats, herons, and the mysterious sounds of the jungle after dark.
Day 5 - Dorado & Yuracocha
Explore the serene blackwater stream system around Dorado, where calm, reflective waters mirror the forest canopy and create beautiful opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. Watch for colorful birds, squirrel monkeys, iguanas, and other creatures moving through the rainforest.
Later, choose between kayaking or catch-and-release piranha fishing before continuing by skiff through the peaceful waterways and silvery oxbow lakes of Yuracocha. Along the riverbanks, we may spot caimans, sloths, monkeys, and birds as the Amazon reveals itself one quiet bend at a time.
Day 6 - Nauta
Return to Nauta, a remote river town on the banks of the Marañón River, for a closer look at daily life in the Amazon. Visit the local market with our guides, where stalls brim with rainforest fruits, river fish, regional produce, and handmade crafts.
Later, explore the waterways around Nauta by skiff before enjoying time onboard Pure Amazon. Unwind with a spa treatment, relax on the sun deck, or simply watch the river scenery drift by.
Day 7 - Nauta Caño, Yanayacu Pucate & Yanayaquillo
Begin with an early skiff excursion through the mirror-like blackwater of Nauta Caño, a beautiful creek known for birdlife, dense vegetation, and early-morning wildlife activity.
Continue into Yanayacu Pucate, one of the most scenic tributaries of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, watching for monkeys, tamarins, iguanas, and colorful birds along the way. Later, explore the quiet waterways of Yanayaquillo by kayak or skiff, lingering as daylight fades and the rainforest begins to reveal its nocturnal life.
Day 8 - Samiria River & Nueva Arica
Set out with our guides toward the Samiria River, known as “the jungle mirror” for its smooth blackwater reflections of forest and sky. Along the way, look for sloths, monkeys, birds, frogs, and the smaller wonders of the rainforest that our naturalist guides bring vividly to life.
This afternoon, visit Nueva Arica, a welcoming riverside community where local life is shaped by the changing rhythms of the Amazon. Learn how families adapt to the river’s seasonal rise and fall, and discover how A&K Philanthropy supports sustainable community initiatives in the region.
There may also be time for kayaking or a peaceful swim in the calm blackwater before returning to Pure Amazon for our celebratory farewell dinner.
Day 9 - Disembark in Nauta | Iquitos & Departure
This morning, we say farewell to Pure Amazon and disembark in Nauta before continuing toward Iquitos with our guides.
Along the way, visit a local market and the Museum of Indigenous Amazonian Cultures, offering a final window into the traditions, artistry, and daily life of the region. There will also be time to browse handmade crafts before transferring to the airport for flights to Lima and onward connections.
