Windstar Cruises Star Pride 8 days from/to Reykjavik, Iceland
Dramatic scenery and curious communities coalesce on this week-long circumnavigation of Iceland. Explore a country few people will ever visit, and go far beyond the tourist hotspots to remote fjords, raging waterfalls, hot springs and small fishing villages. Get to know the independent and creative Icelanders, and watch whales, Atlantic Puffins, Arctic Terns and other seabirds play offshore.
Join us on a Vacation Stretcher and witness the beauty of Gullfoss, Golden Waterfalls, step into a glacier or walk on the continental divide when visiting Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or pay a visit to the famed spa, the Blue Lagoon, for a soak in the volcanic, mineral-rich heated waters. This is yachting at its most inventive.
Windstar’s Around Iceland cruise sets off on a complete circumnavigation of one of the most diverse and dramatic island nations on earth. It is the perfect itinerary to immerse yourself in local culture, explore natural wonders, and relish in the Viking history of Northern Europe.
You’ll dance along the south rim of the Arctic Circle, crossing it only briefly as you round the north part of Iceland. You’ll set foot in tiny villages dating back to the 8th century, you’ll hear the sagas of the original Viking settlers, and you’ll marvel at the natural wonders that each port offers. All while on the lookout for humpback whales and Atlantic puffins.
Once ashore you’ll have the chance to meet the Icelandic horse, hike to waterfalls, soak in thermal baths, take a culinary adventure, see black sand beaches, hike on the Berserkjahraun lava field and watch wildlife.
This is an itinerary of exploration appealing to nature lovers, history buffs, and anyone who loves to feel small among the greatness of natural wonders.
Your Ship - WindStar's MS Star Pride
With only 312 guests, Windstar’s Star Pride will make you feel like you're on board your own private yacht almost as soon as you step aboard. The sitting area of your spacious suite gives you an expansive ocean view—making it a welcome retreat. When you're ready to make an appearance, the lounges, Yacht Club, and library are waiting to be explored. Take some "me" time in the tranquil World Spa by Windstar, enjoy a dip in the pool, work off that decadent dessert in the Fitness Center, and, of course, you are always welcome to visit the Bridge to examine navigation charts with the Captain. This all-suite yacht is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into delightful tiny harbors and hidden coves that others can't reach.
Star Pride is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into delightful tiny harbors and hidden coves that others can’t reach.
This all-suite yacht completed renovation as part of the $250 Million Star Plus Initiative to provide more of what our guests love. New public areas, including two new dining venues, a new spa, infinity pool, and fitness area. The yacht also boasts all new bathrooms in every suite and a new category of Star suites, featuring a new layout.
With ocean views and at least 277 square feet of comfort, Star Pride is the perfect yacht to watch glaciers and fjords drift by from the serenity of your suite.
Carrying only 312 guests, Star Pride still tucks into small ports like Sanary-sur-Mer and Seville or narrow waterways like the Corinth and Keil Canal. We can’t wait to welcome you on board for your next 180 degree from ordinary adventure!

Seydisfjordur, Iceland Wednesday & Thursday, August 20 & 21, 2025
Seydisfjord is 11 miles of long, narrow, beautiful waterway surrounded by high mountains that ends at the town of Seydisfjordur, known for its old multi-colored wooden buildings and cascading waterfalls even in the town. This is home of the Skalanes Nature Reserve with its wide variety of wildlife including more than 45 bird species. The first high-voltage electricity in Iceland was opened here in 1913 and is still in operation today. A popular hiking path starts at the town center, following the east bank of the Fjardara River that flows through the center of town.
Akureyri, Iceland Friday, August 22, 2025
Akureyri is an important port and fisheries center because of its ice-free harbor so close to the Arctic Circle. It lies at the end of Iceland’s longest fjord, which is 37 miles long and sits at the base of snowcapped peaks that offer some of Iceland’s best skiing during the winter. Must-sees in Akureyri include the Listagil (art canyon) which is home to many arts and crafts galleries and shops, the beautiful church in the center of town, the botanical garden, and Hafnarstraeti, the main shopping street. This is also the perfect place to ride an Icelandic horse visit the Godafoss Waterfall, Waterfall of the Gods, or soak in the sky-blue Myvatn Nature Baths.
Isafjordur, Iceland Saturday, August 23, 2025
Small and easily walkable, Isafjordur has one of the largest fisheries in Iceland. But the severe decline of the fishing industry has caused Isafjordur to look elsewhere for work. Despite its small size, this town has a school of music and has become a center for alternative music in Iceland. They host a yearly festival that provides a platform for local musicians and bands from around Iceland and the world to perform.
Grundarfjordur, Iceland Sunday, August 24, 2025
Beautiful Grundarfjordur is located between a mountain range and the sea. The road nearby crosses a lava field that is partially warm, so snow does not always stick there. The main attraction of the area is Snæfellsjokull National Park full of regal glaciers, lava fields, waterfalls, caves, calderas, and basalt cliffs. The peninsula received the EARTHCHECK Sustainable Community Award in 2010, the first area in Iceland to win such an award.
