Perhaps one of Mykonos' most famous gay properties, the Elysium's reputation stretches the world over, with guys from all over planet Earth coming here year in, year out to be seen on the Elysium scene.
Recently refurbished to an excellent standard, the Elysium Gay Only Hotel offers a choice of standard and superior rooms, all of which are air conditioned and feature ensuite bathrooms, a balcony or terrace, internet access, audio equipment, a fridge, a safe for you to rent and satellite TV. Superior rooms have PCs with webcams installed (hmmm) and are altogether rather bigger, with king sized beds. Some superior rooms also have a small kitchenette.
The hotel is an architectural delight, really pretty and kept beautifully clean by the excellent, friendly staff. The walk down the hill into town takes about ten minutes, but for those times when you just want to take it easy chez-toi, you're bound to appreciate the hotel's two bars, inviting pool and lavish spa, featuring an indoor Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Don't forget, though, these spa facilities have to be paid for as and when you use them.
Somewhat less exciting, but equally important to some of you, is the provision of a TV lounge, an internet cafe and a laundry service. Beach towels are provided free of charge.
As regards catering, your complimentary breakfast comprises an American style buffet, while a snack bar offers tasty titbits all day long. The idle rich will enjoy the benefits of room service although, frankly, it's worth hanging out at the pool bar if only to cop an eyeful of the tanned, wet torsoes of your fellow guests, or cop an eyeful of some spectacular views over Mykonos Town and the sea.
New hot tub, in swimming pool area is free of charge for all Elysium Hotel guests.
Athletic types as well as the barking mad will enjoy working out in the hotel's well-equipped gym, but for something more relaxing you can indulge in some serious hydro massage.
Finally, a word of warning: the Elysium tends to sell out very early so you really will need to book as early as you possibly can.
