Mykonos Off-Road Safari See the hidden corners of the island of Mykonos many of them inaccessible unless by jeep. Enjoy breathtaking views, rural areas, beautiful beaches and the unique feeling of driving a jeep. Our tour takes us first along the coast to Choulakia beach and from there up to the lighthouse. From there we drive through the area of Marathi past the dam and Panormos beach to the bay of Agios Sostis. Then we drive to the area of Ano Mera village where we have a stop at Paleokastro, the ruins of Venetian Castle. We explore the area around Ano Mera with it's agriculture and the nearby old abandoned mine. Lunch Stop in a picturesque place (not included in price). Then we continue along the south coast and drive past Kalafatis and Kalo Livadi beach through the green area ot Halara. Our next stop is at Agrari beach where we have time for a coffee and a swim. From there we head back for Mykonos town having as the last high light of the tour a photo stop at the old castle above the city. Don't forget to take beach equipment, sun protection, water and good shoes. Notes: The drivers (min 23 y.o.)must process valid driving license. Delos Guided Tour from Mykonos Delos Island: the famous ancient holy sanctuary:

The Delos archaeological sanctuary, birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, is listed by Unesco as one of mankind's most important cultural and historical sites. Delos was the sacred island for Ancient Greeks and became the holiest place in the Aegean with a flourishing commercial town & harbour, large population, temples, and open air theatre.... Delos is now uninhabited and off-limits for an overnight stay.. Delos was mostly the spiritual focus of the Ancient Greeks ethnic identity: it was a holy island, dedicated to the god Apollo and the religious festivals grew in the ancient world into a huge trade fair and city without defensive walls with public buildings, a cosmopolitan banking and trading center, with it's grain port and slave market. Today Delos constitutes the most well preserved ancient city in Greece. The short boat trip and guided tour gives insight and facts on the remarkable Hellenistic ruins dating from 300 B.C. with Greek & Roman relics. The enormous spread of ancient ruins show you temples, courtyards, houses, baths and shrines with the most eye-catching Avenue of the Lions (the originals from Naxos marble. You will discover Cleopatra's house, the Temples of Isis, Athena and Apollo, the Altar of Dionysos with its huge broken phallic symbol, and the House of the Dolphins, House of the Masks and House of Dionysos with contain marvellous mosaic floor. The theatre could seat 3,000 to 5,000 spectators, and the small but attractive Museum has sculptures of the Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods, together with a collection of vases from various periods. To escape the crowds at the end of the guided tour you have time to climb to Mount Kynthos, from where you will discover panoramic views to the many islands that create the circle of islands surrounding Delos, giving its name to the Cyclades. Ioannis, Ornos, Ag. Stefanos, Tourlos, Kalafati, stop with ouzo, St. Anna, as well as Ano Mera Village with its famous Panagia Tourliani Monastery. Starting the City-and Island tour by walking the small and narrow streets, we have many possibilities to take nice photographs in the early morning, quiet city. We get orientation und information in the labyrinth of the old town as well as impressions of the small port and the churches in town. Of course we will see the famous wind-mills and find Petros The Pelican, the mascot of Mykonos. After this we are exploring the island with a bus, visiting some of the most famous beaches and the inner landscape. We see fishermen and kaikis, small private chapels and houses built in typical Cycladic style. In the second main village of Mykonos, Ano Mera, an idyllic place 6km from town, where the guests have enough free time for a stroll around the traditional square and they can visit the monk monastery Panagia Tourliani built in the 16th century. Mykonos Wine and Culture Tour Wine & Culture Walking Tour in Mykonos Town Saturday walk through Mykonos town's labyrinth of small, narrow streets; first to the Agricultural Museum, then the 6 famous windmills, and the Folklore Museum, located in an 11th century house. Tour continues to, "Lena's House", a traditional Mykonian 19th century house in center town, and the Nautical Museum next door. Last stop is a typical Greek taverna for wine tasting. The island of traditions and that could keep its culture alive through many centuries of lively history. Our excursion deals with these subject. On our walk through the town we visit the Agricultural Museum with its traditional windmill, the Folklore Museum which is situated in a beautiful house of the 11th Century where an interesting collection of items concerning every day's life as well as various costumes are exhibited. Then we continue to the House of Lena where we can see the style of furniture and personal belongings of the family. We will visit the NauticalMuseum with its beautiful ship models of various epochs, very interesting nautical instruments, old maps and the old lighthouse from the north cape of Mykonos Armenistis. As the last highlight of our tour we go for a wine tasting to a Greek restaurant. The Bride of the Cyclades A Full-Day-Trip with a lot of impressions and useful information! After a 45 min boat trip we arrive at the port of Tinos where the bus waits for us. We drive over the big pilgrim avenue to the most famous church of Greece, the Evangellistria with its holy icon which is believed to do wondrous deeds. After these overwhelming impressions we leave Tinos Town and the bus takes us over winding roads past typical villages and picturesque landscapes to the monastery of Kechrovouni situated 500 m. high. Here the nun Pelagia used to live and here she had the vision to go to Tinos Town and find the holy icon early 19th century. We explore the monastery of the 16th century where 80 nuns live and beside visiting the cell of Pelagia have the chance to see many pretty points of whitewashed buildings and churches, full of beautiful flowers. Our bus tour continues to the important historic mountain of Exobourgo where the great Venetian castle was situated which in the past was the strongest force of the whole of Greece against the Turkish invaders. Here we have a photo stop. Afterwards we drive to the other side of Exobourgo where the Catholic villages of the island are located. We stop in the old traditional village of Volax which is famous for its basket making. Here we also have the chance for a coffee break before exploring the village and visiting the local basket makers. Our tours continues to the fertile downs of Komi where we pass through the agricultural areas of the island and stop to see the lemon groves before driving over the panorama road with breathtaking views to the sea and the other islands to the fishing village Panormos. Here we have lunch in a traditional taverna by the sea (lunch is not included in the price) which offers a very tasty variety of local dishes as well as excellent fresh fish from the charcoal grill. There is also the possibility to go for a swim. Our next stop is in the Pyrgos Village, the center of the marble arts and of the marble region of the island. We visit the local artists and can see them at their work before exploring the village which is completely made from marble. Further impressive sites are the church Agios Nikolaos and the grave yard at its rear both also full of marble art. At the old and peaceful village square we have time for a coffee break. After Pyrgos the bus goes back on the panorama road towards Tinos town and our last stop before that is at the valley of the pigeon houses. We walk through the village of Tarambados and can enjoy the beautiful site of the pretty setting of the old Venetian pigeon houses. Afterwards we drive back to Tinos Town where we have free time before meeting at the port and returning to Mykonos. Notes:To visit the monastery men have to wear long trousers (not the 3/4 ones), women - skirts, dresses or long trousers. Knees and shoulders must be covered in any case. From: Mykonos Town (Chora).
