Simple shapes that follow the chaste touch of traditional lines and soft colour brushstrokes inspired by the scenery that surrounds it, perfectly mingle with the unconstrained vitality of the glowing sun and the sapphire sea.
The epitome of comfort and inornate luxury, the unbroken view of the crystal Aegean waters, the whisper of the sea breeze, the echo of the scenic country that lies in front of your eyes, compose a magical stay.
The Hermes - located almost immediately opposite the Hotel Alkyon - has just 26 rooms, all of which are equipped with an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, a min-bar fridge, In-room safe and satellite TV.
All rooms have a balcony, and from this vantage point some rooms enjoy breathtaking views over the sparkling white town down to the sea.
The hotel provides courteous and personalized service that only a careful family management could guarantee. Our hotel combines the best on Mykonian hospitality and services with new standards of comfort and Mediterranean design.
The breathtaking views, providing its guests with an excellent place to sunbathe and experience, a relaxing holiday within the privacy of an exclusive guest area.
You can choose between a twin and a double room but, as ever, double rooms are generally the first to sell out. Nonetheless, whichever type of sleeping arrangement you go for, you'll find that your room is attractively decorated and very well furnished indeed, and this satisfying level of quality is mirrored throughout the whole property. The public rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and welcoming and the general atmosphere one of understated style and sophistication.
The hotel's inviting kidney shaped pool is undoubtedly one of the many reasons that the Hermes is now a firmly-established HappyGay Travel favourite, and its here that you can cool down in the clear blue water in between some serious sunbathing sessions, perhaps punctuated by a drink or a snack from the bar. Talking of drinks and snacks, for those of you who like a bit of privacy from time to time, you can always decide to go all posh and take advantage of room service.
If you were paying attention up there in the first paragraph, you'd have noticed that the Hermes is billed as being situated opposite the Alkyon. This means the walk into town takes around a quarter of an hour, with the walk back up the hill taking a bit longer. This is fine for most people but probably not a good idea if you're disabled, infirm or very unfit like us.
The lovely maids at the Hermes will clean your room and change your towels every day and they'll replace your bedlinen three times a week.
